Blizzard's Sour Grapes

I played WoW for maybe a week in January. After months of CoH, I just couldn't get into it. So I decided to cancel. When I chose 'leaving for another game', this is what Blizzard had on their cancellation page, quoted verbatim:

Mmmm... Baubles...

Heh, before I read the post, I thought this was about how bad the Ice Blast power "Blizzard" was. I was gonna say how it's getting a boost in I7, along with all the other rain powers. Oh well, guess that's a bit off topic then. :)

That's freaking hilarious, World of Warcraft is a good game but its not interesting as City of Heroes. Barbarians VS Superheroes? Heroes always win.

they just cant stand it becoz they never promise anyone anything, and they never recieved any baublers as a child...

What I think is funny is that they try to impress on you that if you actually posted something, they would act upon it.

I play both. When I want to just do some serious butt kickin, I'm definately playing COH. I do like some aspects of what WoW has to offer that we will never get in CoH, but it's not enough to ever get me to leave. It's an ammusing little sidebar that takes me back to my old RPG games like Warhammer.

I don't actually see that as sour grapes so much as a "Canned" letter to a customer closing their account. I'll bet thousands have read the exact same thing.

Weren't you born with i....Uhm nevermind. I like Guady Baubles. Blizzard lost me long before WoW came out. Diablo and Diablo II were the flavor of the month for a while, but playing online got really old really fast, and customer support was ...poor...to say it nicely. No biggy. Give me the vular trinkets to amuse my simple desire to enjoy a game. They can keep WoW.

I'd think their "gaudy baubles" line was a goofy attempt to stay in the game's character...seems like something a medieval type would say. So probably geekiness more than bitterness, though it does read funny.

I wish that the devs would send something like that to me every time I quit the game. I could tell them exactly what they need to do to spruce things up :)
