| About the origins of your villain |

Hi Ya'll! I just got the game today and I'm waiting for my folks to come home and give the Credit card to start :P
so in the mean time: Does the origins of the villain have any major affect on the gameplay and does it affect the looks of the villain?

The origin of the character does have an effect on the game if by origin you mean what Archtype you choose to start with. A Mastermind cannot play the same way as a Brute or a Stalker. You could try of course but the results would be very bad very quickly.
As far as the look of your toon well that is entirely up to you. You can make a little bitty Brute or a massive giant stalker. It wont affect how they play just how they look. There are so many costume combinations you could quite literally spend hours just building you toons. I know I have.

Actually I meant the origing thingy which you " gained your powers" or something :P
you know, the Mutant,Magic, Technology and natural?
does these have any affect on the looks/gameplay?

I dosn't really have any major change in the game apart from wat enchancments u can use and so improving ur powers.

The biggest effect that your "origin" will have is the type of enhancements that you can use. Meaning, Mutants, can only use "mutant" Single Origin enhancements and any Dual Origin enhancement with a "mutant" trait. Everyone can use the training enhancements.
Now, the catch to origin and enhancements. The villians you fight also have a "origin" per say. When they are defeated, they tend to drop (training enhancements) and whatever origin enhancements they represent. For instance, the Circl of Thorns will drop a lot of Magic type enhancements or the Lost will drop some Mutant enhancements, etc. So, depending on what your origin is, will decide who you will want to fight when you select your newspaper missions. Picking the right villian set for your missions will increase your chance of getting 'free' enhancments that you can actually use to enhance your powers.

It can also effect how u pick your contacts. For example if your magic u most likley wil not choose a technology contact for missions. You can tell what type of enemies you will be facing when you pervious contact or broker gives u a brief bio of your new contact. For example, Mr.X is kinda shady and has an interest in the circle of thorns. If your a magic origin then u will want to take this contact b/c the enmies that u will be facing will have the highest drop rate for magic enhancements. Now u if you are a tech origen then u do not want to choose this contact b/c there is no way for u to get a tech enhancment drop off of a circle of thorn enemey.
If you are a mutant or a natural origen then it is ok 2 choose this contact, BUT only do this if you are not over 30 b/c once u hit 30 u start using Single origen enhancments that cost lots more and the enemies will not drop Dual origin enhancements as often as they drop single origen enhancements.
Natural, mutant, magic: these origins mostly tie into each other when u buy dual orgin enhancments.
mutant, science: these tie into each other with dual enhancments
tech, science: obviously tie into each other with dual enhancements.
If u r still confuse u should pick it up fast as u play.

if there is a "best" IMHO its mutant. why? Longbow are mutant and are in all the PvP Zone missions and in the homestretch to 40 a lot of us spend a lot of time on warburg missions. Also I beleive bank gaurds are also mutant and we all get a lot of those.

I thought the bank guards were natural. i always used 2 get natural off of them if anything.
Mutant is the best origin 2 go by b/c i think it is the most flexible.

I have gotten natural off the bank guards also. But i do agree Mutant is the best origin two go by, i have other toons with different origins. But Mutant is the best way to go =)

Actually you can use SO enhancements at level 22 (level 25 SO's) your allowed to utilize Enhancements 3 levels above your current level, but you are correct that the enemies do more often drop SO's after level 30.
SO's start at level 25 (you can of course still buy DO's.)
A contacts Enhancements will usually be more expensive then purchasing them from an Origin specific Store, and location of Origin Specific Stores can also play a part.
