Not sure if this topic was posted before but, through a bit of searching, I saw it not. So I thought I'd start one. :)
What would I like to see in future DDO? First of all, scythes. To make Korahn as close as possible to my actual PnP character I would need a scythe. A Nice, big two-handed scythe. The DM at a sanctioned DnD game was puzzled when he saw my character with his 1 lvl 1 feat: Weapon profinciency: Scythe. But I got his respect after my spells were gone and charged in at a couple monsters. :)
Another thing I would like to see is some form of potions for spell points. They have plenty for health and there's always the shrines. I know it's a far reach, but it would be nice, nonetheless. (note: After writing this I found out that there ARE potions to heal spell points - Mnemonic enhancers.)

Well, I never got to play pnp with anyone but I have the 3rd edition manual and Paladins are suppose to get a mount I believe at 4th or 5th level. The mount has hitpoints and I believe it aids the Paladin in battle. It benefits from the Paladin spells etc.. By not including that in the game makes the Paladin incomplete, and gimps him a bit by not balancing that aspect in.
I'm sure there are other pets, monsters, etc..that have been left out for other classes. I would love to see the Druid class added with her/his pet cat's and bears and things. I hope they can continue expanding the character abilites, feats, & make the classes even more true to the pnp which is the game design, and not just add a bunch of dungeons.
I've read how some of the feats arent practical or necessary, or not emphasized as they should be in the game. The game touted that skills would be the overall deciding factor of how well you would fair playing the game. I do see some strategic elements but not to the level I think it should be. It's still a great game & I hope they improve all aspects of the game. I'm still afraid that when LoTR or Vanguard comes out, peeps will jump ship. There is so much potential here.

Speech bubble or floating text.
More emotes.
Non-combat uses of Perform.
Clothing with a clothing inventory slot.
Night cycle. We have rain (yay!) but no night.
Alternate color floaty-names for party/guild members.
Cloaks.

This falls into what I call, "non-combat die rolls." Let's say you finish a mission and you go to talk to the NPC who gave it to you... there should be a die roll (with your Perform skill giving a bonus) to see how much you influence that NPC to give you a good reward. This could be used in alot of situations.
Also...
A small noise of some sort when you get a tell.
Wizard familiars.
Wild Mages. Elemental Mages. Monks. Druids. Bladesingers. All sorts of classes...
Half Elfs. Firbolg. Gnomes. All sorts of races...
Graphics representations of some of the mini games that nobody plays. For example, on the dock next to the Leaky Dinghy, there is a guy you can play the shell game with. But you don't get to see any shells!
There should be a deluxe edition of the game for $15 - $20 more, that includes a headset and mic. It would be some brilliant marketing, and would allow them to showcase one of the best features of their product. I have sent Turbine an e-mail about this, and got no response.
A way to "set the quest" so that it lights up on your map. How much time does it take us to explain to every party member what quest we are going to, where it's at, and who to talk to?
I am sure I will think of more...

The UI needs lot's of work.
I want to be able to changed the color of any text type, not just the 5 or so that you can.
I want to be able to change the font size in each chat window that I've created.
Have you ever been typing a tell, have something happen like someone open a trade window with you and all the sudden you're no longer typing but you have opened 6 other windows?
The Friends list needs to work.
The guild list should show who is online or not. Doesn't the game know if someone is there?
I'd like to move the die to the center bottom of my screen. Well I can but it has a nasty habit of sneaking back to where the default location is which is under one of my chat windows.
I could go on and on. I do enjoy the game but there is so much that just needs polish that it's a bit frustrating.

well they are fixing one of mine, the dual wield hotkey.
I wanna see all my stuff, cloak, neckalace, belt etc. etc. If I have boots of butt kicking I want to see them on my character, and I want everyone else to as well.
Armor paint/dye. I'm perfectly fine with the armor style being set as is, but I would like to be able to go to a shop and buy paint or dye for the armor and be able to change the colors.
Vision/lighting. Darkvison, low light vision, and having to carry a bloody torch.
Also other stuff that has been said... team member names in a different color. the leader should be able to set the mission so that it shows on everyone's maps. Familiars and animal companions... would be cool for the pali to be able to quest for a mount or animal companion as well. all the classes and races from the phb and the prestige classes.
there is probably more that I could think of but that is it for now.

Guild Halls, i know I know, but hey I think they would be an awesome edition to the game, and would be a reason to join a Guild, right now the only benefit of joining a guild would be to be able to use the nifty blue text in the guild channel :)
Also just because i have seen so many that want it, plus the fact that it would be a nightmare to program (mua mua ha ha ha), I think Height and Weight scales should be added. *insert more maniacal laughter here*
And I would also like to second the idea of more classes/races/kits and/or professions/non action oriented skill usage/and equipment that shows

* More monsters. This game is using Oozes and Undead as a crutch. What about more aquatic monsters like Shaugin and Quoa Toa? This is supposed to be a coastal city, right? So, maybe put in some cool adventures with some classic seaside critters. What about adding Roppers and Cloakers? I'd love to round a corner and see a Mind Flayer for the first time.
As it stands, there are only 22 monsters in the game. True, Turbine has done a good job spreading them around in the quests - and beefing up some with names or sub-types... but there are still only 22 monsters in the game. We need more of the Monster Manual put in the game.
* A social tab that works... My guild tab has been broken for weeks now, and constantly shows me logged in as every one of my alts at once. Same thing for every member of my guild.
* Functional maps for "cave" quests and taverns. Nothing is more irritating to me than not being able to see where my party members are in caves like the ones in Gwylan's or the side caves in Stormcleve, or the mines in Korromar. Also, not being able to spot my party members by mini-map in a tavern sucks. I hate using Floaty Names, and try to have it off as much as possible.
* Duel Weild hotkeys. I know they are announced for the April update - but I'll beleive it when I can play it.
* Fix Stability items. Right now they only work for True Neutral, and they should work for ALL Neutral aligns. Needs a fix.
* Total Redwillow overhaul. They took a great quest and tore out it's hamstrings rather than actually fix it. I do not concider removing some rocks and lowering the HPs and ACs of the mobs a fix. If people were exploiting it - make it HARDER not EASIER. Amp up the difficulty - then crank the XP and the rewards back up to where they were and make the quest what it should be...
* Familiers for Mages, pets for Rangers.
* Guild Banks.
* More "trinkets" in the game.
* More unique end-loot for big quests ala Water Works.
I've got a lot more - but these were just the ones off the top of my head.

Thought of one while in game, I know its a stretch but my thought was....
Voice messages, like you can put in somebody's name record a quick 15 second message and it will be waiting for the user when they get on...like an answering machine.
anywayz back to the game

There are a lot of really cool ideas here! But one I haven't seen is for our guildmates to show up as a different color. That way if we pass someone who is in our guild we know it. Right now you have to click on people, and I have no doubt I've wondered past a few of you in game and didn't know it.

1st off Welcome to the site!
I'm not fond of not having an account wide bank either. But I haven't had any stuff stolen yet (and hopefully won't). I think the real trick is to get some one you know. Maybe have ran missions with on multiple times. Or join a good guild. Most of the time guilds will take care of a problem like someone stealing someone else's gear.

More quests!!! I struggled to get from lvl 6 to 7 without having to find really large groups to run higher level quests. I could have, but it'd be nice to have more level 4 and 5 quests in the game. There's a ton of lvl 6 ones, then a gap again...
Guild vault (as mentioned before)
More personal vault space and/or more room on you
More guild ranks
Ability to assign certain abilities to ranks (I'd like more than just officers and myself to be able to invite others to the guild. I have some members that I'd more than trust to invite others to the guild, but they aren't one of our 2-3 officers for the guild.)

I'd like to see some form of in-game email system. As a senior member of my guild, I arrange events for certain nights. It would be much easier to be able to send out an email to everyone in my guild and let them know an event is planned. The guild MOTD is just not enough.
I'd also like to be able to know the name, class, level and location of all members of the group I'm in. I hate joining a group and not knowing what level anyone is until you actually get together and THEN you find out your cleric is 3 levels lower than everyone else or some such nonsense.
We definitely need more monsters. Even the low level ones. Where's the goblins and orcs? Nothing but kobolds and slimes.
I'm also hoping that when they inroduce more classes and races they will also be including more character slots. Five just doesn't cut it. Since you can't endlessly farm quests for high end loot (thanks for that btw), once you hit level 10.4 and have done all the quests your only option is to create another character. Personally, I have a fighter, a cleric, another fighter (ranged specialist), a rogue and a guild bank mule (a necessary evil in this game). I enjoy all of my characters but would like to try out a mage. A couple more slots (at least) would be awesome.
More weapons would be nice. Especially polearms. As a fighter I'd love to be wielding a halberd and it actually extending my reach. The art department should also continue to add new styles of weapons and armor. I love that they do this now and hope they continually expand on this to keep things fresh and everyone looking unique.
BAG OF HOLDING. 'nuff said.
Guildhalls with a common guild vault that we could put extra weapons, wands, scrolls etc. into and fellow guildmates could take whatever they needed from it.
Some indication of what guild someone is in. In EQ2 you knew about the more prevalent guilds on your server because the guild name was right there over their heads. In DDO I couldn't name a single other guild on the server besides my own. We need some way for a guild to stand out as pioneers. I'd like to have seen some sort of special recognition for the first people to accomplish extraordinary tasks (ie killing the red dragon) such as some sort of title or "medal" that is displayed when you examine someone.
Like others, I would like to see some sort of solo content/timesinks introduced. There are times when you simply cannot find a group or you don't have 2 hours to commit to a pick up group. I'd like to see some type of crafting but it would have to be unique and allow you to make items of practical use. I'd be willing to put the time into crafting if I could make potions, wands or other such items that my guild could use. Making a wand for example could require a fighter, rogue or ranger to acquire the components and a wizard, sorcerer or cleric to enchant the item. I know i hated crafting in EQ2 but there were other thing to do solo besides crafting, such as soling mobs for meager xp. In DDO there is NOTHING to do if you don't have a group.
Personally I do not want to see armor dyes. It's a great idea as we could have guild colors and everyone could be matching but I just don't want to see Technocolor Paladins in hot pink armor. Ugh. I think mounts would be a bad idea too. How many horses do you want to see racing around town?

1st off Welcome to the site, xmenrogue!
And I do agree that the guilds in game need some changing. I would really like to see them rehaul the whole system and get us some good things for it.
And the name of the guild over a persons head is a very nice idea... that way we get an idea of what guilds are around with out having to click on the player to find out.

One simple thing: For the "You are incapacitated" dialog, have two buttons: OK and Release. The normal informational dialog paradigm used in hundreds/thousands of other apps is: "This is some information. Once you've read it, click OK." It's basic habit to click "OK", knowing that nothing will happen other than the dialog disappearing. However, in DDO it actually does something (release you) that you may not have wanted to do.

And you are so right about this one. There have been so many times I have released to city when I didn't want or need to. It would be nice for it to give you a choice of yes or no.

Thanks thejeni! :) Yeah, they really need to add a lot that I've seen in a lot of other games like DAoC, WoW, and Star Wars as far as guilds go. If DDO did what a lot of other games are doing now (taking other games' ideas and using it in their own game), it would make DDO a LOT better. I have already seen too many guild members cancel their account after the first 30 free days because they lost interest. :( Most major complaint....not able to solo!

They did say they were planning on giving guilds some major loving. But this was before launch, and they were talking about "in the future". So maybe, just maybe, this summer when Module 2 releases there will be some guild lovin in there.
