| (Kryta) Ettin Farming with a Necro? |

Yeah I hear that Ettins have really good drops as a guildie of mine was farming in North Kryta Province (not with a Necromancer unfortunately, nor did she know any builds for the Necro)and got some superior rune drops (and prob. some other nice stuff xD). Yeah is there a Necromancer build to this, that is if it's possible? Yeah, if so could anyone post/link me to one? Thanks.

Wow interesting question...
No i dont think there are any ways for a Necro to farm Ettins...
1. because they dont have enough armour
2. because 55 necro's (or monks) have alot of trouble gettin past those first few mesmer Enemies..
If i am wrong sum1 plz correct me :)

Leave from LA, Necro's can make etin farming a breeze as a MM, kill some imps along the way then avicara, then you can have an army to take down a fair few Etins with no hassle at all.

You need to go through a portal to Nebo dont you??? once you do u lose all your minions...

Dont farm nebo, bad drops there usually, just farm near ascalon settlement, then make your way to scoundrels rise portal, go in and out, then theres a few mergoyles to get your Minions started with again.

well im not sure if a necro could make it past those avicara but a monk can just take a second set of armor so u have normal health and bring sprint, easy

If you are raising lev 18 fiends and horrors its no prob, just make sure you have at least 3-4 because the ettins are usually in groups of three or more. If you can maintain your minions, farming here solo as a MM is a breeze.

I farm ettins with my necro all the time using an MM build, heres the trick, take along one damage skill to help kill your first few enemies (and lynxes of course), I take deathly swarm, I also have heal breeze to stop me dying and heal area for myself and the minions. Start from Beetletun, just as you come out to your right is usually a small group of mergoyles, take those out with deathly swarm, don't attack them with your weapon- they usually use spirit shackles which drains your energy while you attack, spam breeze as necessary. Once they are dead I usually have 3 high level minions to help me further, keep going right, killing all the mergoyles and raising minions as you go, you will do a complete long u-turn leading you to some Tengu (or is it avicera?), by the time you reach them you will have a good sized group of minions to deal with them, further down are the Ettins which by this time will have no chance against your minion army. Its great fun and sometimes the drops are great too.
Heres my skill set up:
Animate Bone Fiend
Animate Bone Horror
Deathly Swarm
Verata's Sacrifice
Blood of the Master
Offering of Blood Elite Skill
Healing Breeze
Heal Area
I use OOB because keeping an army of minions 'alive' is energy consuming, it gives you a quick boost to either raise more or keep the ones you have alive. Use your health sacrifising skills directly before you use heal area to keep your health up too.

If yu have factions; i'd recommend kicking in a Flesh Golem. With 16 in death you can raise a lvl 26 golem. Pwnage X.X !!

With the factions elite skill, flesh golem... it makes this even easier, becuase ass soon as you have one, farming up to get extra minions is a breeze.

This is the build I use.
Attributes:
SoulReaping: 9
Curses: 16
Healing: 5
Protection: 8
(Minor runes for curses would probably do good (Im not using any currently)
Skillset:
1. Spiteful Spirit {E}
2. Wreckless Haste
3. Defile/Desecrate Enchantments
4. Insidious Parasite
5. Parasitic Bond
6. Aegis
7. Reversal of Fortune
8. Healing Breeze
Im not sure how well this will work for some of you, but it worked quite nicely for me. I use an SS build. I am also a Necro/Monk. Its more of a SS Prot build, with a little healing. For the protection part I have Aegis, This allows me to evade the enemies attacks by 50%. This last for 8 seconds, so you want to do as much as you can as soon as possible. Protective spirit would be nice, but since they normaly wont even do more than 10% dmg, you would only lose about 40 or less hp anyways. Although getting hit for 30 for 3-4 times within 2-3 seconds can be rather costly. So I bring along healing breeze, maybe not the best healing but it works for me. I also bring along reversal of fortune. Whenever taking alot of dmg I cast it as much as needed. This should allow you to keep your health up long enough to atleast take down 2 ettins. Now by this time, you should be able to cast SS atleast 2 times on 2 different enemies. Causing enough damage to kill them off. I also use defile enchantments/desecrate enchantments to do 64 dmg with 16 curses. Reckless haste (maybe factions only skill), will cause the target to attack faster but miss 52% of the time. Causing you not to lose so much health, along with SS doing more dmg as they try to attack each time. (I may be wrong about this skill, it may just make ss worse). Insidious parasite will be another skill to bring along, which will heal you a little while they attack you. Whenever the target foe hits you, you steal 21 health from that foe. Another nice skill is parasitic bond. When a target dies, you gain 126 health. Now im not to great with this, and I'm new to this. So im sure there is a few skills which can be substituted for others, so you can perfect it yourself.

Way back I figured out how to farm gypsie ettins with my N/Me without minions and using only necro skills. I don't remember the exact build but it included SS and Enfeebling Blood. It was somewhat troublesome and needed focus swapping so I soon switched back to my ele. These days my necro solo farms titans. Better loot and XP than what ettins give.
