this is a passage out of the contest criteria...so yes, both CoH and CoV count. Just log in at least once per day to be qualified.

Don't worry, these are the dates for the contest. You have not missed out on anything yet. Start clearing some logging in time (at least) now. Just log in once per day, even if you don't do anything, you'll still be entered into the daily drawing.
