I’ve never really liked charging ppl for running to Droks & have always run guildies, amp members & friends for free. Recently though, I’ve been strapped for cash so I’ve started doing a few charged runs a day. Cos of my dislike for charging, I say that if I don’t make each section on the 1st attempt, you get the run free, e.g. if I don’t make it to snakes 1st time u don’t pay the 2k. This allows my conscience to charge while giving a 30% odd chance that ppl may get a run for 1k or even free (on a bad day), instead of 3k. Everyone should be happy.
My question to you experienced runners is this, what do you do if someone refuses 2 pay at snakes? I can only see 3 options, none of which I like:
1: Return the money to those who paid & leave them there.
2: Return to Beacons, kick out the offender & run it again.
3: Continue to run & kick the offender at Rankor.
As an AMP member I don’t even consider keeping the money & leaving, if I give it back then I’ve just wasted my time, if I return to beacons the payers complain of wasted time and if I continue to run then the payers complain that the offender gets a free run (which I also don’t like).
This has happened three times in the passed two days, so any help will be much appreciated.

Collateral. This is the way to ensure that people pay; take something of theirs that's worthless to you but very valuable to them.
When I was still doing Drok's runs, I would charge 2.5k but would demand that everyone give me all of their armor before I started running in Lornar's Pass. Then, for every 500g they gave me, I would return 1 piece of armor to them. If they don't pay at all, I left them at Rankor naked, since they'll have a very difficult time getting from rankor to Drok's on their own without clothing.
Other useful pieces for collateral are powerful customized weapons, especially greens (since you can't strip mods off and can't sell them due to their customization), but I myself preferred armor as it was piecemeal, like the payment you take.

Btw, don't a lot of people get runs to Drok's to buy armor there?
And don't they often wear like... pre armor?
So they'll try to scam you, being left naked and if it fails... they grab the next "normally operating" runner from Beacon's and try again... naked or not, who cares.
They could still partly scam you probably, where did you have them pay how much?

Lol at ppl being left naked at snakes. U could be right about the pre-searing armour though.
I charge 2k@snakes & 1k or 0.5k@ rankor.

offcourse i ask them to show the money at start, and i tell them i will report them to anet if they dont pay.
ive had only one time someone was acting like he was afk when it was pay-time, i waited a moment, and just continued my run without his money.
When we arrived at rankor he left the party, but when i whispered him i was going to report him right after the run and his account would get banned, he started begging me not to report him and said he would pay me an extra 1K if i wouldnt report him.
He kept saying he would never do it again and he was so sorry and he was such a bad person etc.
it was kinda sad :/

yea like Lord_Skull_Crusher said ur best choice would probably be to threaten to have them banned. scammers tend to be stupid and they dont know that they cant get banned for not paying on a run (correct me if im wrong). but if u make them believe they will be banned (as in can never log into their account again, not just suspension) they will usually pay up. at least in my experience they have. good luck.

ive had this happen to me before i deleted Zolo when i did the runs for money some 1 tried to scam bye bye.
report to anet and not seen them on since

They can get banned..but the runner would need alot more proof than with a trade scam. Still if you say that you are taking screenshots for proof before you start the run you'll find that scammers back away pretty quickly.

Some good advice here.
I do check their money pre-run which cuts out a lot of the scammers, but i may try to get some collateral before the run. After all, anyone who is going to pay will get it back & those who don't want to give it up are more likly to scam me. Also screen shots and telling them i'm going to report them before i run might help weed out scammers before we start.
