| Is there an "Upgrade" in your future? |

I was going to put together a new rig after the first of the year, (I was due) but with EQII on the horizon sooner is better.
The balance of my parts should arrive, 10/1
The meat of my project - -
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum(939 Socket)
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256 MB
MGE Red/Black Viper Case
2 - CORSAIR XMS, Xtra-Low Latency 2-2-2-5, 512MB DDR PC-3200 w/ Platinum Heat Spreader
....and "bells and whistles" UV like Christmas(I will never need a night light again)
Looking back, I think I should have turned the other cheek to the Eye Candy and the Corsair RAM. Maybe even going with the 754 socket and use the savings toward the WD Raptor drive and the ATI X800 XT.
Either way the damage is done, and I will be knee deep putting it all together soon. I wonder which will be brighter, the Monitor or the Case?
Anyone else planning on a major upgrade soon? I might have some Round UV Cables for sale cheap.... :)

My new monster will be complete and on my desk by next week. :)
I assure you, you want the best gaming rig possible to fully enjoy EQ2. They are definately rasing the bar on gaming hardware.

no huge upgrades here as I just bought my comp less than a year ago, and with 4 of them in the house need to spread the upgrades evenly around :)
my hubby's and kids comp will get another 512 ram and will be adding a new graphics card to my sons. That should get us all running with P4 2.8, 1gig 2700 DDR , and ATI 9800 Pro cards.....won't be running at top of the chain but should be able to play and enjoy the graphics

LOL Ptath, this sounds like our house. Everyone has a calendar date for specific upgrade needs.

Only going to do a couple upgrades myself such as increasing RAM up to 1 gig and then upgrading my video card. I currently have the Radeon 9500 pro so I am leaning toward getting the x800 pro.

well i just went out last month and purchased a nice little machine to secretly sneak under radars . . . heheheee
athlon sempra 2600+
1gb ram
128mb FX5900GT video
80gb HDD
19" CRT monitor
Hopefully will keep me out of trouble for another year or so till i csan purchase eventually i reckon 1gb video card . . . heheheee a man can dream cant he . . .

Heh ... I just need the RAM upgrade ... but its $60 I don't have ... bleh ...
