DO Enhancements at higher lvls 

As I'm grinding my lvl 28 scrapper slowly up the xp ladder, I find that I'm recieving alot of DO enhancements off of the street thugs I "arrest". When I'm grinding, I set a goal of getting my entire inventory filled up with DO enhancements as the end of my grind. Afterward, I run these DOE's to origin-specific shops to get the maximum cash allowable for them.

I don't need any DOE's. At level 28, every one of my powers are equiped with SO enhancements already, but getting a SOE to drop is rare. So, my question is, at higher levels do enemies begin to drop more SOE's? Or do they still drop a lot of worthless (except to sell) DOE's?

At higher lvls, they do drop more SO's.. they may not be usefull to you, I'm always getting a ton of Natural, or Science... but they do drop them more frequently. Now they also drop useless Training enhancers... but you can get a little bit of $ for these if you make the trek back to AP or GC and sell them at a trainer... I suppose you could go to Sky... but you know... I'm usually hitting AP to buzz the newbs :)

Somin answer to your question DO's become leff frequent, and SO's more profuse as you're lvl increases... I think once you stare hitting lvl 30 mobs... but don't hold me to it. :)

Yes. It helps if you have a friend your level to swap with once the SOs start dropping.

it also helps if you fight the bad guys that drop your origion of SO's.... but yes the drops do get more frequent (i'm lvl 34 and get a pretty good amount of so's) but you will still have to deal w/ the do's and even the training... i've found the CoT tend to drop SO's more frequently than pretty much anything else i've fought.

also you don't have to go all the way back to AP or GC to sell the training enh, there is a freedom corp store in talos that will pay the same rate as the stores in lower zones for training.... of course i always trash my training enh to make room for more DO's and SO's.

Thanks for the info!

I would like to see Cryptic do more with enhancements, myself. There are more possibilities available that what we work with now.

It would be neat having enhancements that beef up two (or more) attributes (like having one that enhances both accuracy and damage). They would be weaker than a normal enhancement that only adds to one attribute, but you'd be getting a boost to two different attributes for your power.

Also, I would love to have an enhancment to increase critical hit percentage for my scrapper :)

I'm gonnd have to find that store... I guess I've never looked... of course I never could find teh Nartual store in Talos... :) Can find my way out of anything... except when I'm in a game.. then my sense of direction is gone :)

The dual attribute enhancments sound neat... of course I hardly put anything but damage on stuff... and I'm maxing my Phatasams out with recharge I think... but at lower lvls when you dont have as many slots to play with... that would be really neat.. they could be made for training only, so that if you wanted to continue to use them later in teh lvls you could, but you could also use them early :)

About finding stores, try these out , make sure you read the instructions, but it's really not as complicated as it sounds ;) And they work really well!

um... they have those..... they are just really really rare, and only available at higher levels.... i belive they are called hamidon enhancements.... let me have a look to find out info on them, but they are out there.


oh and Gyspy the easiest way to find the natural store is start at the magic store. it is on the same road, just a bit further down.... it is also right next to the new dance club (and don't feel bad about not knowing where they are, i had to ask my boyfriend for at least a month, where all of them were in talos [i think he knows paragon city better than the town we live in])

Isn't this a hamidon?

EDIT: OK, found them mentioned elsewhere, so they are indeed an enhancement of some kind, I nvr doubted u really ;) , but no info yet

EDIT: Found this in a previous patch fix list: "Doubled the effectiveness of all Hamidon Enhancements (most now boost 2 attributes by 50%)"

EDIT (again): and this on cohvault.ign.com: "There are 3 types of enhancements - Training (also referred to as Generic or TO), Dual Origin (DO) and Single Origin (SO). Well, technically, there's a 4th type, special enhancements that only drop from the Hamidon Trial, but as they're not available in stores, they won't be covered in this guide."

LOL yes that is the hamidon... the dual enhancements are only from when he is killed.... here is a link to people discussing the enhancements.... still looking for more info about them.....



and here is a picture of one of them


oh and after further reading they are given for trials, which means you don't have to go out and fight the hamidon to get them, you can also get them from the sewer trial (i think you have to be lvl 36 to do that one)

Ok i see that but i still think it should be at all lvls like he means from lvl 1 training and up. OF COURSE i think people would just plug 6 dmg/accuracy and have a good mix without worrying bout either :(. That means that idea is kinda out for dmg and accuracy make some different combos for that. However you'd think they would have enhancements like buff duration and such and they dont. I think it would be hella hard to make double buff enhance and balance them.

DMG enhance? I have a scrapper who is katana/regen....alll accuracy or def debuffers :P. KK so im double gimped on dmg as katana but it ends up the same as others due to my low miss rate and against a boss it lets everyone else hit the damned thing.

I always value accuracy over dmg. Because accuracy becomes more and more valuable as enemy lvls get higher while dmg only works if you actually hit the thing. With someone keeping me alive..pref tuant my scrapper can take purple bosses down easily....just hand me all your dmg insp if you cant hurt em :P.

I am going to try to find the link to this program for you, but the results show that the best DPS comes from 1 ACC and 5 DMG.

Damage ACC END RCH DPS
133.33 1.00 10.00 5.88 31.67

vs 6 ACC 1 DMG

Damage ACC END RCH DPS
66.67 2.25 10.00 5.88 15.83

Now I know you didn't say you used 1 ACC 6 DMG as far as I can tell you said you use all ACC and Def Debuffs. This will yield results more like this.

Damage ACC END RCH DPS
50.00 2.25+ 10.00 5.88 11.88


I put the plus in there to account for any accuracy benefits you might get out of Defense Debuffs vs it being unslotted, but my guess is not much.

You may hit all the time with this slotting formula, but in the end its kind of like a boxing match between a Straw Weight and a Heavyweight boxer. The Straw Weight may land nearly every blow for minimal damage, but the Heavy Weight is going to do some very serious damage to the Straw Weight when he does connect.

A lot of sword hits debuff defense anyway and lethal is resisted by enemies less often than smashing. Additionally it is a lot easier to hit the accuracy cap with inspirations than it is to hit the 400% damage cap that way.
Additionally Build-Up adds a High To-Hit Buff.

This is a cookie cutter format to be sure and one that Statesman is obviously aware of from his comments...

AYE...but i'm only lvl 16. Each has 2 accuracy and 1 def debuffer and each 4th slot is being made or is a dmg enhancer. I'd still go accuracy of dmg :P just my style. Some guy the other day went 6 dmg :(. end spec for each one will prolly be 2 accuracy 2 def debuffer amd 2 dmg. I just wanted to start out acurate as heck and then go with the def debuffing. So it's not like im going all accuracy...even i can see thats a waste. Especially once you get into SO. If i wasn't goin after the debuffing in there too i'd prolly end up with a balanced 3 dmg 3 accuracy 6 alot. Divine avalanche has 1 accuracy and 2 def buffers on it atm i plan on 6 slotting it with the rest def buff. Any ideas on that one? It seems to save my butt rather alot and i really don't need but 1 accuracy with the rest of my powers debuffing thier def.

Ran into a guy before that went no accuracy and all def debuff dmg be4 on katana. Just silly. Once he hit he rarely missed but he could whiff any number of times. Course everyone else could hit too....part of the reason i have the def debuffers.
