I know I am addicted to playing my heroines, but today I saw this google ad on the site. It gave me a giggle. But then I started to worry. Maybe I am really that addicted. Should I give them a call?

Well, if you're worried that you might start taking drugs because you're so addicted, I probably would...:p. Just kidding. I had that problem too. The game is just really really really really really really really really terribly addicting. It is one of the reasons I had to drop my account in Dec 2005. It was starting to interfere w/ school, and I was gradually prioritizing the game over HW.

If games are not supposed to be a higher priority than homework, then perhaps that explains my parents frustration when I was in high school...

I would say no. Sounds like they're substituting one drug for another. Besides, looks like your already using the Gameamp way of kicking the habit. Or was that continuing the habit? Kicking and continuing sounds so much alike...

I think the appropriate phrase here is "habit maintainance", where one is controlling one's addiction to a habit by carefully transferring that addictive behaviour to a less dangerous/addictive habit. In theory at least. :-p
So, for this purpose, gameamp = methadone. Scary.

I have parents? those must be the people that keep telling me to do stuff like take out the trash and clean my room. HA! MightySmiter doesnt have a room! my sg has a base, but we dont ever clean it. the stuff absorbs into the floors! HA! thatll show them to make me do stuff. HA!

try this singularity... i am 16 yo, and i try to never take my woprk home with me. Its a life quality issue.
As to the topic... CoH is the single most addicting things ive ever tried. (imagine someone in a back alley, trying to decide if he should spend his last 15 dollars on crack or another month's hit) J/K!! lol
The devs designed it this way on purpose. theyre in league with the soda and microwavable food and online music industrys.
think about it.
If ur a 24/7 gamer, u arent gonna wanna spend time eating healthy and fixing good food. ur gonna microwave something between the time that ur team does a mish and the slowest person has to train up ;-P
Online music corporations make millions off of ppl like me that decide to buy music based on how it makes me feel while playing. everytime i start fighting an AV, i hit R.E.M.'s losing my religion (it reminds me of every comic book supervillain leave me alone!) and i have special music for when i lvl, if i solo, teams of 4 or less, and teams of 8. +sgs, +friends IRL...
but they plant subliminal messaging in the game to make it so that u start to get a whopping headache whenever u arent playing. just keep ur time down to 6 or less hours a day, coz once u go over that ur into something i call the point of no return, where u dont even know the people in ur life unless theyre on the little friends list u carry with u everywhoere. Ur little black book becomes global friends list with phone numbers in it (teehee). At school, u sya ur battlcry everytime the bell signals class is over (i got beat up becoz of that on several occasion)
2 options await u:
1: cold turkey. spend 24 hours getting it out of ur system. IT WILL BE THE HARDEST 24 HOURS OF UR LIFE. u will see things that cant possibly be there, and just remember that tatoos DON'T give ppl special abilitys with a katana, and that facial piercings DONT mean that a person owes allegiance to dreck.
2: ween. not suggested as it is way easier to get addicted again. but u will gradually start to say "whoa! theres a gigantic ball of light in the sky?" then grow used to it. its called... i forget, but it starts with an "s".
Good luck getting it out of ur system, ive got to go turn tricks for money to play this month (im gross). I hear my dealer calling

That is exactly what my friend and I do. He is my only friend (stop laughing for a second, hear me out) at my school (see Im not a total loser. Only a little bit) that plays CoH, and we try to do as much of our homework as we can during school (we have 4 out of 6 classes together).That way, the amount left over when we get home is really small.
Sidenote: My friend is really smart, and practicly does half of my homework for me. Now that I think about it, thats why I have so little to do at home...
