Yeah, I think you have to buy them. You can't unlock them with faction then use them on your PvE character.

i didnt unlock the unlock skills with factions, i have a PvE necro. but i guess that doesnt matter..they should really change it so that when u change ur 2ndary, u get all the skills u already unlocked for free...

You must get the skills on each character. just because you have them on one does not mean all your charactors have them

Don't worry, after the purchase of only a few skills, the cost per skill will only cost a measly 1k each + the much harded to obtain skill points...ugh
Sorry, but that is just the way it is XD

actually they do unlock on every character. as i have a w/mo and i started a monk and got him after pre searing and had every monk skill which i had unlocked on my warrior. so if u unlock em once there always unlocked on PvE

You sure, cuz that definetly hasn't worked for me. At least, I started with a W/Mo, unlocked all skills of both classes, then created a Mo/W and had to get all the skills all over again.

Alright, is what you mean is that you can start a new PvE character and then in Pre have all the skills that you unlocked on your other chars. Cuz I just tried that and I can't seem to do it. I unlocked all the Monk skills on my W/Mo and created a Mo, but she has no skills, see.
So, my guess is that we are talking on different wavelengths XD

Ok to clear a few things...
Unlocking a skill is just making it so it is available if you create a PvP character (and now so you can also buy unlocked skills at any skill trader).
When you start a PvE character you still have to go through the lengthy process of buying all the skills or aquiring them from quests, you are not instantly given every skill you have unlocked.

When you unlock a skill it will be available at every skill trainer for your pve char of that kind.
So say you pvp and unlock "animate bonefiends" then you make a pve n/mo and at in ascalon you can buy the skill from the skill trainer (no skill trainer in pre-searing tho), so you can be a level 1 with animate bonefiends without any runs etc.
Elites are not available at skill trainers even if unlock as far as I know.
Will make a nicer sig when I think of something ^^

Yup, what Joe says is right. But you can go around to the earlier areas and pick up the quests with skills in them.
