Welcome to the News Guidelines Forums. This is your official place on finding out the Do's and Dont's of news submissions. Please read and heed before submitting news, as this will help you immensely. Thank you for reading and heeding.
News Regulations
* Always use an image but try not to go over 200 width
* News articles should have 2 paragraphs (8 sentence minimum), if there isn't much to say, add fluff
* Large font sizes & odd font colors are rarely used in news articles. Order and organization is key.
* The purpose of most news articles is to give news, not get attention. Use your better judgment on which news articles are designed to benefit the network and which are simply giving news and don't really need the bold or awkard colors to get attention.
*Do not quote exactly from that site. Use your own words, and if you must quote, quote as little as possible.
*Provide a link to the origin of the news.
*Do NOT copy/paste news from other websites, use YOUR own words.

If I may be so bold to add one more:
* If the news can be read on another site, summerize the news in a few lines and add a link. Do not quote the full story.
(edit by RonJ73: it's technically illegal to quote the whole article and post it in your news here as your own, so do as Phed says here)

I'd like to give a reminder to the community. I love getting help on finding news, but I have a few things to say.
I will no longer fix your your news if it is wrong. Read what this guide says and follow the rules. I am saying this because a news submission of one written line and a link are not news. Fluff it up. An example of this is what I did concerning the Halloween test event with this news post. The only reason I fixed that news post is it's good news everyone wants to know, and to provide an example of a proper news submission. Please read and head the news guidelines.
