Concerned mom's that want to keep an eye on their kids... I know they're behind this, they got Anet to implement a "whatch over your kids" feature into GW.

Apparently that's not uncommon for online games. I've been playing a bit of Lineage 2 and they give you the same message. "You have been playing for and extended period of time. Please consider taking a break."
I just think it's funny. :)

Well they might implement a feature like that, it would make sense especially for a free online game. It would free up alot of bandwidth for players that just stay AFK and so forth (and the pre mentioned mothers concern for their kids ^_^)

I'm guessing you can overcome this by switching characters, condsidering you must log out to do that.

yes, the concerned mothers have been involved in this.
I heard there will also be a new skill called "Watch Your Kids"

I sense a bit of hypocrisy here. They are gonna remind us every hour after a certain period, but then they give us things like the FoW, which takes about 7 hours, from what I've heard, to clear out. Something just doens't add up there.

it'd be better if it was like a ingame clock (so we know what time updates will be etc.) or a online counter, so u can logout just b4 u all go in for a fow run and time urselves

omg.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, i get that from the wife, now i gotta get it from the game?! (tho the game appears more polite) I am gonna be so aggravated this weekend, i usually do 12 to 14 hrs saturday and sunday if the weather is crap :S

FoW takes 4 hours. I think you mean UW, that takes about 7-12 hours to clear.
But yeah, I'll be using my elite skill 'Ignore'.

Game makers have been adding this 'feature' to games since that korean gamer died from exaustion, this was probably added to Guild Wars after that Second gamer died the same way. Guess they're just watching their a$$e$.

I think the rule of thumb is that you should take a half hour break after ever two hours of gameplay. But who actually watches the time when they play anyway?
