Ok all this right here is how I would like all missions in the future to be submitted as it makes a lot less work for both my staffers and for you guys so that we don't have to keep asking for anymore information.

MISSION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Here are the criteria for the different sections of the submission form:
1) Objective: This should state the exact statement that you would see up in the Navigation pane while in-game, i.e., "Destroy mystical cauldron".
2) Zone: Select the zone that the mission takes place in from the drop down list. If for some reason the zone you need does not appear in the drop down list, then make a note about it in the mission text, and we'll get that fixed up for you.
3) Given By: Select the contact name from the drop down list. Again, if the contact is not available let us know.
4) Badge: Only select an Achievement or Accomplishment badge from the drop down list if the mission in question awards one. Do not list achievement or gladiator badges that just happened to occur while you were running the mission.
5) Reward: Okay, this one has some wiggle room. For most missions, the appropriate reward would be "xp / inf." or something to that effect. If at the end of the mission you receive a DO or an SO as part of the mission bonus, then append the reward with" + DO" or "+ SO". Do not include DO's or SO's that result from normal drops due to defeating the various MOB's. If the mission is the end of a story arc, then append the award with "+ choice of SO" or something to that effect. You may also list Temp Powers if they persist after the mission ends.
6) Min Level: Enter the lowest level you can enter the mission, i.e., for the Cape mission, the minimum level would be 20, 30 for the Aura mission, etc. Usually it is the minimum level for the contact.
7) Difficulty: Enter in 1-5, with 1 being very easy and 5 being extremely difficult. If you think anyone can solo the mission on Rugged level with no problems then it's a 1. If you had to drop your difficulty to Heroic and you still bit the dust, then it should probably be a 5. Please keep in mind that what might be easy for a Tank may be harder for a Defender or Controller.
8) Indoor: Okay, this one is a little confusing. Basically, you should check this box if the mission does not take place on an outdoor map, i.e., an instanced city zone, etc. If the mission takes place in a warehouse, inside a ship, in a cave, or inside a base then it is considered indoors.
9) Description: This should state at a minimum, word for word, what the contact tells you when they first offer you the mission, i.e., "Now that DJ Zero knows where the cauldron is, he wants you...". We realize this is a lot of transcribing, but the intent is for someone to be able to look up the mission before they accept it and know what to expect. The easiest way to accomplish this is to take a screenshot of the mission offer, and then transcribe it later when you have time. It would also be nice to get the follow up message that the contact says to you after you accept the mission, i.e. "Oh, there's one more thing I didn't tell you...". Also, if the mission text contains the Hero's name, just put "________" in place of the name.
Since you currently can not use bold or the other formatting in this section, you'll need to be a little creative. You can use regular html tags manually, like < b >highlighted mission statement< /b >, or < br > for blank lines, but don't worry about that if you don't think you can handle it. Just let us know somehow in your text with notes or something, and we can fix it up for you.
10) Writeup: Okay, this is where you can put all the wonderful tips and tricks you learned while running the mission. Basically, write up what you thought about the mission, how hard it was, whether it was timed (and how long), any special foes you need to look out for, or anything else you think others might find helpful. Generally everybody already has the hang of this section, so keep all that good stuff coming!
11) Map Image: You can attach a screenshot of the map here if you think it's helpful. If the mission takes place on a special map, i.e., the map doesn't change from hero to hero, then this might be nice. If it's a typical warehouse mission, and everybody will probably get a different map when they run it, then it's probably not worth it to include it. If you want to show off your photoshop skills and include a combined map of the different levels, or strategy tips, by all means, send it on in. We'll let you know if we can't use it for some reason. |
And we can all thank Calgari for this great write up, I only had to edit it a little make it apply to the hero side of the house because this was originally on the CoV site.
