So I know everyone is excited about the new patch and what not, but I have been wondering for a while (just never when I was near these forums) if spending points in haggle is worth it? I mean do you really get that much more for items you sell, and is the discount that much greater when you buy to put the points into it?
Also I've heard that if you have high intimidate you can get a price cut. Is this true? And do I actually have to use the skill on the merchant before I talk to them to get it to work?

Intimidate does nothing...
However, Haggle is worth every point spent in it. Right now, my 10th level Sorcerer has a 25.5 haggle, and I can get things for a *significant* reduction. You won't see much differance till you at ten or higher - but it makes a world of differance when you can get 2k off a 9k item. :)

Wow 2k? I guess I'll keep on putting points into haggle then. Thanks for the info!

Also, there is a new quest reward for South Threnal that gives +10 haggle, with a Command suffix called the Coin Belt So, it's an uber-purchacing bit of gear. I give it thumbs way up.

I had a helm of haggle +3... man i wish you could mark things not sellable cause well I accedentally sold it. But even that took a few hundred off larger cost items, and you sell for more too.

My brother has a bard with 25 haggle and I have a level 10 rogue with price warfare 3 that gives 15 haggle so when I use it on him he has 40 haggle.
With 40 haggle he can buy weapons from the weapon shop for 8% more than the base value of the weapons and sell for 25% of the base value of the weapon.
For armor pawnshop it was 4% more than the base value and I think 25% also.
If you go the House Jorasco and buy components and wands you can actually buy it for less than base value. Not sure about the percentage. Forgot to check but yeah, haggle help save a lot of gold.
72000 gold weapon sells for 18000 gold instead of 12000 most people sell for. Thats 6000 gp.

I'm convinced that now I am going to put in as many points as I can into haggle.
And I wanted to welcome jdlegend to the site!

Pricewarfare can only be used on other people, not yourself. But if you ever get to level 10 rogue or ranger your action boost can add 10 to all skills which would help with selling too.
Nearly impossible to get 40 haggle by yourself.

Even if I don't get 40, I still think it will be worth it.
