Me too.
But, there is hope! In the quest "Durk's Got A Secret" aka "Kobold Brothers" that is acquired in the Leaky Dingy tavern - there is a new item since the patch. That quest has one of the few ( maybe only ) named oozes in the game, Muck. It's a named, so it won't show up every time.
But, in it's chest is a club that is awarded to everyone. It's called Muckbane. It's a lesser-oozebane club that is "made of an unidentifiable, glasslike material". It seems to be impervious to ooze damage. Once I found it - I beat up several dozen oozes with it and it never needed repair.
...being a nice guy, I thought I'd pass this info down the line.

MMMmmm... dual wielding Muckbane goodness, it is so cool it's hot. They should make a song about it, James Brown style because it is sexy er... something. The best part is that it really isn't overpowered, but it makes people so happy, and you have to use an extra inventory slot for it, or two. Thanks again!

I don't like ooze either. It's rather... oozey? oozatious? ooz-a-licious? Hmm...oozey...isn't that a gun? Um, yeah...

Our guild posted this as as soon as you log in, get a muckbane or two.
It takes 5 minutes if you know where to go and are higher level.
Good tip, dual wield for everyone! Oozes are terrible AC, so you can clean house with these clubs.
Also, we found a glass dagger, more on that when I find out where it came from.

Submitted as a tip last night. :)
And, I've also been telling my guild to pick some up. I was shocked to see there were *35* Muckbanes in the tent-vendor on my server last night. Either this item is being farmed mercilessly - or people don't know what they have.

My vote goes for farmed mercilessly. I mean do you know how much money we are going to save in repairs now?
And I had been wondering, how much damage can these babies take? Do you need to repair after. I just picked mine up today.

If you hit Oooze with them - they take next to zero damage. Ever. But, if you hit anything else ( breakables, kobolds, etc ) it takes damage *fast*. Muckbanes were made for one purpose in mind... figthing oozes. It seems like the devs have finaly tiped their hat to us and accnoladged they've abused the oozes in this game.
Anyone else fought those Arcane Oozes yet? &^($&$!!!
One odd thing about Muckbanes however... You can also beat on Rust Monsters all day long - and they take no damage at all. I soloed Corrosion, the named Rustie in Grey Moon Waning - and the other rusties that spawn after the chest was cracked - while duel-weilding Muckies. Not one point of damge to either club after 9 or so rust monsters... hmmmmm...

Ok good to know. And it is strange that you can use them against rust monsters. Do they do any damage to the monster?

Yep! Muckies deal normal club-damage to them. So, these are a perfectly viable solution to two of the most weapon-breaking critters in the game.

Yeah I usually offer up running the mission after someone complains about them people tend to be very happy when they find out. Good to know about the rust monsters too.
And just to prove that everyone hates oozes here is my 15 month old daugher's thoughts on the matter:

In addition, there is now a Muck's Doom to be found in the Pit. It is Ooze bane, not Lesser Ooze bane, so that's 3d6 per hit/per weapon... ;)
