I know theres alot of people that probably buy these ashes, I did my first time through with my Mo/E,but this time i decided too go with my N/Me. I thought it too be worth the challenge. Pretty straight foward, only hard part is the ending where i died once. I did use the henchies. Anyhow what im getting at is if you have always skipped this quest i say do it at least one time! also is there anything out in Dragons gully or is it a place too farm, never even made it out there with my Monk i think.

I've never paid for ashes, and never gotten them without doing the quest. Although I have sold them before, for kix.
I think the quest is fun, it's a relatively long quest and you get to open up a lot of mapspace which is fun as well. The charr are challenging if you are at a certain level and it really teaches you some teamwork and skill building.
Seeing as after my first couple of deleted characters I refuse to go out of pre-searing at lower than level 7 and usually stay until level 10 I'm a healthy level when trying all of these quests, which makes it easier (relatively) to get through.
What bugs me is the people who go to Piken to level up instead of going through the motions of actually getting to piken. There is a whole side plot to actually getting there. Through side quests.
By default you should be level 7 or higher if you get there legit but there's alwasy level 1-5 there always trying ot get a level 20 to do the quest with them etc etc. and it gets annoying and they can't do the ashes quests.
since they don't know about the side plot to get there they'll never level up and always have to bu ythe ashes.
But hey it's all good.

Agreed. You do have to do at least once, and welcome to the forums! My second character I bought them.

Lets be honest. Altheas Ashes is NOT a hard quest. At lvl 8 it shld be pretty easy with henchman as long as u r smart.

Further north in Dragon's Gullet is just a bunch of Hydras and Abominations, and a couple collectors. Not really much at all. So unless you have some hydra or abomination farming needs, then there's no need to go up there.

I've always been curious as to how you get more than one of Althea's ashes. I personally have never once bought them, and have gone through the entire game doing almost every side quest with three characters. But I always wondered how those people in Piken were selling them, since you only have one urn.

it's kinda along the lines of get the quest, put the urn in storage, abandon the quest, repeat. I think. Don't quote me on that.

This is a darn fine mission and I dont know why anyone would want to skip it :O
The sharmans on the alter are the only real pain so run around back and range attack them or just storm in killing sharmans first after taking out the front warriors. :)
Once done I liked going into dragons gullet n back to reset n do it again.

Yeah it's pretty easy, but fun.
With my warrior I soloed it at lvl 8 (using Grotto armor though).

Haha...I used to farm charr hides there with my MM all the time. I loved Flame Temple Cooridor. I used to take friends along for the ride sometimes...they just follow behind me picking up drops.
And they really should put something in Dragons Gullet, I was a little peeved when I mapped every square inch of it and found nothing but a couple collecters.

I'm not certain of this, because I've never actually done Last Day Dawns, but doesn't that mission end in Dragon's Gullet?

I found ashes not that easy to do if you are the level that the quest is meant to be done it. it is not a cake walk unless you have a good group or a high level in it to help.
You very much have to (as in all quests and mission) attack only one group at a time then it is not to hard. In fact this quest is a great teacher for teaching that lesson.
Althea's ashes and Villainy are great quests to judge (and to learn how to use) your characters. I did them with all my characters! They are serious quests-you can't screw up to much while doing them-the room for error is not great in these quests. I would say to not buy the ashes and to do the quest with each new character you add.
Added-when doing alone with henches a warrior is best as you can by being a warrior control the pulls better then as a caster where the henches will screw the pull and get killed. Don't have anyone including Orion(drop him) in your group use firestorm if can be avoided, otherwise your group will be pulled onto table where ashes are and be wiped out.

No, LDD is just outside Frontier Gate, and probably the shortest (but not easiest, since that title goes to Defend Dendravi) titan quest out there. The last titan quest, 'Titan Source' is placed in Dragon's Gullet.

Last Day Dawns is the Ascalon Titan Quest, you do it after Defend Droknar's Forge, and at the same time as Defend Denravi and Defend North Kryta Province, but once those 4 are completed Glint will give you the Titan's Source quest - and that does in fact end in Dragon's Gullet, north of the Flame Temple Corridor.
It's also IMO one the easiest of the Titan quests...
--
Althea's Ashes... yeah I've bought them before, I've also farmed and sold them too, back when you could get 200-300g each. I did it with my first character.
In fact I did everything on my own with my first character, I never got run anywhere, and I never got people to do a mission for me. I'd recommend everybody does it all the first time. Otherwise you're missing most of the game.
