barrage on a lvl 9 ranger

I just went to iron mines and joined an infusion + mission run with a Me/W running and basically soloing the whole mission. I was amazed that a mesmer could do that, but of course with IW they could be able to. Anyway, made it to the end and i got the cap on markis. :-D

EDIT: haha, now i'm taking it to ascalon arena. :-D

Thats pretty nice. My best low level cap was probably Shield of Judgement with my lvl 2 Monk. It was actually fairly simple, I just needed a group that didn't have defend Droks as an active quest. But getting there was half the fun >.>

lol, im not into rushing too much, my best is escape at level 7 on my ranger. not really too useful in ascalon arena, however

Yeah i helped a level 12 ranger get it on my monk we did the last part 2 men down stupid level 12 wouldn't listen when i said take off the vamp bow while your afk. Then our level 20 ranger took off to rez so he could get the cap. Naturally he died and someone wasted a rez on the level 12 instead of someone who could help atleast we finished.

my ranger had apply poison(not elite but far in game) at lv3 :) and my mesmer got IW at lv2. always fun to pop up in ascalon arena with drok armor and elites :)

i think its pathetic and doesnt say much for your ability that you require this at that levels and want to outright cheat your oponents

i just dont get this .. its like those people that are in the desert at level 2 .. or even the ring of fire at 3ish

whats the point ? your worthless ... youll be no good to any group

in this case, its just blatantly exploiting the situation ... and any wins you get should be removed from your record as you definitely wouldnt have earned them

wow.. its just a damn game lol just cuz people likes to have a small advantage its cheating? lol i get all my chars rushed... every single one of them.. get them good armor and good elites.. drop back to ascalon and own everything in my way.. its just a very smal advantage that some people like to have but its not cheating, cheap, or bad at all

thats just the thing with me lol i dont get that kinda stuff happen to me cuz i dont fight outside of yaks.. i dont do none of that lol i skip all quests.. all missions.. with the acception of the desert and southern shiver missions all others are tossed aside. accept my warrior which i have a few that i did out of boredem. so none of my faction, or money goes to waste

well i got my lvl 1 ele armor of mist and i fought against a bunch of warriors and owned with inferno and meteor(my eles lvl 20 now)and my lvl 7 necro got ss and i owned somore.

no my first 3 or 4 i played through.. then deleted cuz i hated them lol.. im currently at my 15th character on 1 account lol.. 3 warrior, 3 necros, 3 eles,3 monk,1 mesmer, 2 ranger... everything but my first warrior, first necro, and first ele got rushed through the game..

People aren't going to like what i'm about to say.. :P

I would love to just wake up one day and go to the Ascalon arena and find that ANet imposed level limits on skills and armor.. Not so much out of revenge but just to see the reactions..

If i had to guess it would prolly be alot like the reactions from the griffon farm nerf where you had people at the 2 extremes arguing with each other and complete chaos for about 2-3 hours until people realised they couldnt do a thing about it either way..You had people saying "EVIL ANET MADE ME WASTE GOLD ON A FARMING BUILD AAAH AAAAH AAAH!" and then you had people saying "good..no more bots now" and then you had arguments between the two sides erupt all across the districts.

If ANet did the same thing here then you would also have reactions like this where on one side people would be like "EVIL ANET NERFED FARMING AGAIN!!!! NOW I LOST THE 10k+ GOLD I PAID TO GET THE SKILLS AND DROKS AAAAH AAAAH AAAAH!!! IT'S NOT FAIR THAT THESE POOR NOOBS GET FAVORED OVER US!!! AAAH AAAH AAAH!" ect ect. And then you would have the other side saying "good..you shouldnt have used them like that in the first place" followed by a huge argument and complete chaos across the districts.

..then again on an off topic note i'd also like to see what happens if ANet made merchants charge ectos and shards for a day or 2 instead of gold.. guess i'm sadistic like that..

I guess what it boils down to is 3 views. One saying that because people worked hard for the gold then they have the right to use this advantage..the second group saying that because the advantage exists then they have the right to take it regardless of the consequences it may have on the GW community..and the 3rd group saying that even if an advantage exists, it doenst mean it was intentional and it shouldnt be taken without prior thought.. Which side will win? Place your bets and wait for factions.

if they charged me ectos for stuff at the merchant? Well I could just wait and play oblivion. Griffon nerf? so what I never farmed there and made any money and I only lost 3k doing so. the arena thing? Prolly not gonna happen. But if it does I dont care beacause I dont farm for favor(makes no sense to me)

well im not blamming any1 but i find that droknar armor and elites in a ascalon arena just go together i think droknar armor and elites are a rewarth after going true all those mission and quests and aspecially ascending but thats my vision -ive also never done a droknar run the best run ive had was in desert hate that place-

so the answer is no, you dont have an issue here.. and aparently neither do alot of others.

this is the epitome of pathetic.

there are reasons there are rectrictions on who can go into these areas ... would it be fair for a level 20 to beat up on others in Ascalon ? of course not ... but yet some of you think it fair or acceptable to use level 20ish skills in this way ? or level 20 armor ?

expecially in PvP .. where this matters much more than PvE. i cannot beleive that this is deemed acceptable in any way shape or form.

your a joke. any faction or fame you have earned should be stripped immediately

i suggest that another rectriction be added that say if a player has made it to certain areas on the map that they are no longer allowed in arena behind this.

sidenote: im so sick to death of the "its just a game" crowd hiding behind that like it makes it ok to do things that any measure of class or logic know is not the right thing to do. if you have class, you have it in life, and in game... to hide behind the "its a game" thing is to admit you have none as far as im concerned. grow up

^^ well said my friend....they need to put a armor lvl requirement on it say atleast lvl 15....then no one would be able to go to ascalon areana and fight new people. Maybe even the same thing with elites.

Although i in no way support their actions, i have to add that you do the same thing just in different parts of your life..everyone does.

If there is an advantage present to you that others do not have then you still take it.

For example most people would not reject a college education just because there are people in the world that cannot afford it. Most people do not stop eating because there are starving people in this world. Sure we donate to them and help them out, but we do not sacrifice an advantage just to balance things out for them.

Yes this advantage is player generated but it's also generated by our nature as humans.. the nature that was passed down to use as we evolved (handed to us if you believe in creationism)...Yes we do have some moral obligations but we also have the choice to ignore them. That's why we have the government (ANet in this case) to regulate certain things such as farming and arenas from an impartial standpoint because we, from our points of view, do not have the required knowledge or perspective to do so ourselves.

Every MMO where the Staff turn a blind eye to the workings of the world after they recieve your monthly fee has failed so far because of the players.

Edit: Oh yeah..forgot to add that there is a common misconception that the game or ANet owes you something for completing the quests or buying the game. That's actually untrue. They created the world, you payed for entry into the world. Transaction complete. They provided the service that you agreed to pay for and did pay for. Anything they do now like monitor the game, provide updates, do skill balances, etc. is done partly out of the want for profit from sequels but also because they want to see the game succeed. It's funny how ANet goes the extra step while not getting paid to do it but other MMOs that are paid monthly dont care for the players even though they are being paid monthly to do so..hmm..

lolwhen my first char(ranger) got into the game, i had no clue how to play or what ascending was or anything. i had every place on the map and every place explored too because i didnt get one run anywhere. i was like 10 skill poinrs past lvl 20 before i got ascended.didnt have droks armor until i beat dragon's lair.

things r different now XD.

as an example: a Monk with SoJ at lvl 2 wont live long enough to toss back that 10 dmged (attribute 2 in smiting?) defence.
As rjconroy said; you'll be to no good to any party so whats the point in having that skill at such an early level?
You're giving yourself the credit for having an elite at such an early lvl when it is infact the runners and the henchmen that
deserve that? What have you done to obtain it?
You're missing out on really important aspects of the game, and completely missing out on the moment where logic and strategie jumps in.

as a reply to "its just a game" ... lets cheat, use bots and whatnot... who cares? its just a game!

Peeps are going to do what peeps are going to do. For those that are religious by nature, and stand on morals, and doing the right thing, remember "let he that hath committed sin cast the first stone". We all have the decision of choice in life to do what we want be it right, wrong, moral, or immoral.

If these are the kicks you get dishing out the gold for runs and high lvl armor before you get there, then finding groups or henchies that will aid in capping elite skills just for the purpose of going back to low lvl areans to show just how 1337 you are, it seems a bit sad, but its no different than the IWAY teams that farm faction.

Besides SS, SoJ, or other elites at lvl 2-7 aren't really that effective with low damage dealing and low durations, and if the player realizes things like "Why am I loosing HP everytime I attack this guy?" then you simply have to stop attacking and defend.

I give the whole subject one big "shrug" and a "what every floats your boat." Just sounds a lil sad.
