difficulty difficulty

Moved my Brute up to the third setting, viscous or whatever and did a couple missions with Scrapyarders. 2 missions in a row i had 4 count em 4 bosses, but not just any bosses 2 were +1 and 2 were +2 bosses (per mission) well with enough insp i got through both missions with only 2 deaths (1 per mish). Did i mention i was solo. next day I was solo again and went to relentless just to see what happens and I am generally getting 1 +1 boss. Not sure if its a mission fluke or a diff slider problem.

Well, technically, I think the middle setting gives you min. +1, and sometimes +2 mobs in missions, though the 'final' boss should only be +1. I know Relentless gives you min. +2, with a few +3's thrown in for good measure.

I know I had a heck of a time with scrapyarder missions...those demolitionists just tear my little zombies up! I'd chalk it up for just getting the randomness going against you on this one.

RE: difficulty difficulty

u should try doing some relentless mishes, its fun, and the key secret is, its really not all that difficult, it can get annoying, and quite dangerous, but the xp is better.

It also depends on the contact. I usually play on vicious but sometimes there are even blue mobs in the missions. And I have seen plenty of orange bosses too. I have not figured out yet how it works, but I sort of like it. Makes it less of a grind, and more of a challenge with relaxed missions in between.

Yes if you put your difficulty up high, you will get ton's of great XP. I always have my difficulty up high and i been lvling alot faster, Vs. putting it on easy and taking forever to lvl. Just have to take your time and take out one mob at a time =)

Mmm, the taste of almonds - anathema to many with nut allergies, and a bad sign for many more, as my taste is not unlike that of cyanide. Am I good or am I poison? A risky thing to guess about. What Flavour Are You?

RE: difficulty difficulty

I've been on relentless ever since and yes XP rocks. +2 bosses can be a real challenge (sometimes the +1s) but the XP does rock, made a full level last night. Saw an ascendant Archon havent seen one of those since Striga.

Relentless is the only way to go for some good xp and some good challenges. Now, try doing the Scrapyarders missions on Relentless, especially when there are Foreman and Demo's and they are +2 maybe +3. Talk about a hot time (but very good xp though)

I've run into a couple of the Ascendants as well. It's nice that they've thrown them into the mix again.

Where do you change the difficulty? Who do you need to talk with for this?

RE: difficulty difficulty

hey Swiss, welcome to the evil...lol.

You go visit the Fortuna's to change difficulty levels. Depending on the zone, depends where they hang out. Port Oaks: located by the parking lot next to the Arena (the only one that I can think of off the top of my head).

Great, thanks.

I am having a hard time adjusting to the villains side. I was still healing people as I would run past with my Kinetics Corruptor. I can't help it.

Mercy, near Darwin's landing marker inside fenced area

Oakes near arena

Cap Au Diable along one of the walls near the "globe" statue thing

Sharkhead, right outside the Ferry

Nerva near the mutie and magic stores

St Martial somewhere on giza I think same level as the tech and sci stores

There was a post once about which setting gave you the most xp per minute. It was based on CoH because it was posted before CoV came out. If I remember correctly, the most xp-efficient setting would be Ruthless. If you think about it logically, it makes sense. This setting gives you more mobs, but mostly at even levels so you can kill faster. Even though the +2 and +3 mobs give nice xp, it takes longer to kill them. But you miss out on that sense of pride from taking down purples and oranges.
