Wow! Best first impression EVER! 

Let's make this long story short. I order SWG online, I wait a damn week for it to arrive, I then get it and install it only for it to tell me my CD Key is already registered? Well what the hell eh? Turns out I got a copy of the game that was subject to an error by the company of putting out duplicate CD Keys. So I then proceed to find out that SOE has admitted this error BUT still doesn't guarantee a replacement key, they reccomend I try to take it back to the store first to try and get a different copy, I ordered online so it's not possible. So then I talk to a cutomer support rep who tells me that he will send me and email that I have to send back with all the info they ask for it in and after I do I will hear back from them within a day. A day (let's remember I have the chat transript so this is a quote). So 7 hours go by and nothing yet and I am getting impatient, so I go back into live chat and talk to another CSR, my questions are simple and along the lines of "How long is this gonna take, what's the holdup?". I get the same answer from him twice, "You will get it soon, you have to wait a day", so I ask him, "Ok, so is the day we are talking about a 24 hour day, a 12 hour day, or an 8 hour business day?". He says it's an 8. Ok. So I ask him, "So if I replied at noon do I have to wait till noon tomorrow for one FULL business day?". He then says(nicely avoiding directly answering the question)"You will have to wait until 6pm PST". At this point I say ok fine, and assume he meant THAT day, well was I wrong... Almost 2 days later and I have yet to get an email back from them, so effectivley I now own a game I can't play. And to top things off this email I am waiting for might not even be a CD Key, it might just be them saying they aren't gonna replace it for me so I am screwed. Well SOE, GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION! I am so glad I took the time to invest my money in a product produced by your company! AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

yea. it sucks. took me a while to finally get my cd key. but don't worry. you'll get it. odds are higher youll get a new cd key then if you don't. one of the reasons ya gotta love NC Soft so much more. I'm sure if they screwed up majorly like that then theyd do a recall and keep the fans from going crazy with the shipment of duplicated cd-keys. thats a pretty major shipment screw up if they actually now have it in the FAQS on the site about buying the game and the cd-key is used. if it was just a box or two im sure it'd be done by now. but its not. must have been a whole trailer of games. but they are probably supposed to say all those things because of the TOS or something. i bet if it was off the record kinda thing, they would said...."sure no problem. we'll get one sent to you hopefully by the end of the week" rather then "you might get one and ya might not fastest way is to take the game back and get a new one."

I have been an player of swg since beta. And i just have to say that the CSRs there are pathetic. Soooo many times have i asked for simple fixes that 100% affected my gameplay or reported bugs only to get the reply "we are sorry for the inconvience, but we cannot fix the problem. Try to be more careful etc" In all the time i played Swg I never was helped in a postive way in the many, and i do mean many problems i had with various bugs, sticks, and loss of character belongings. To give example I was TKM, and some CM for a while, i log in and im novice scout?? Talked to a CSR and just got the same ole reply "sorry for the invonvience" 3x after the same problem had happened one CSR did investigate the problem and fixed it. LOL funny thing is about a month after that happened i tried to only deal with that particular CSR. Thing was he was fired for staying in game to much helping players (with customer issues i might add) SO after the last jedi patch i quit the game because of the catering to the jedi class. Not to whine about it i had 20 proffessions mastered. So now i have preordered EQ2 and am dreading the customer support that is attached to it. But for now COH rocks!

Yea so far CoH is the only game I have played that is good in lots of aspects and cool CSR. Now if we can just get those player events. like looking into the sky and seeing witches for halloween. In fact. thatd be sweet. On halloween paragon city is attacked by the undead and the arcane and stuff like that. I wanna see witches and goblins and such for halloween. or for dark evil clouds in the sky or something. the hollows could be decorated with halloween decorations.

I'd been holding off getting an MMORPG for a long time, mostly due to lack of funds.

I was at the store and had SWG in my hands, yet on a whim I decided to get City of Heroes instead (which is weird since I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but I love comic books too so I guess it's not that weird - lol).



Looks like I made the right choice.

Its probably because SWG has so many probelms and issues and what not that the CSR are so far behind. That would make sense. It may also be because they're lazy little PoS's that don't care. This would also make sense. Eitherway I don't like those people *phears*

I have always had good experiences with the EQ Customer Support, but understand that I am the exception. Ive never had to contact SWG CS since Beta ended, or CoH CS. The WoW Beta phone guy I had to contact was very helpful and didnt waste my time when I called him once.

Sony itself is the main reason I havent yet pre-ordered EQ 2. After SWG and the EQ expansions since Aradune left I no longer have confidence that they know how to make good games.

I played SWG for about a month before giving up on it..

Personally SOE needs to stop focusing on PS2 so much and work on their MMO a tadddd more. One would think that since they do so well with their PS2 support that they'd acually do something with their Computer Games. :P

CoH I enjoy more then anything in the world.. and heck.. even with the busy GMs due to the patch lately... I still get a decent answer :P

I agree CoH does have one of the best CSR people ever They'll even get back to you about your input on what you'd like. (I submitted a few things about my hate for the REZ timeclock I used it and it times out after 10 seconds) for a power that takes 5 mins to recharge (un-buffed) 10 seconds is a small accept window

(wow I'm really ranty and angry today, aren't I?)
