Thugs, a new breed of pet in Issue 7 

The devs from COV have released the info on the new powersets, and for us MMs, Thugs. Personally I am getting into this set the more I read about it. The thugs that you summon carry pistols, the enforcers (second summons) carry uzis and the Bruiser (third summons) rushes headlong into the fray like any good brute you might team-up with, except this one will listen to you.
There are the standard equip and upgrade powers but the one I think might just make or break the power is the one called "Gang War." This power sounds great, call a posse of 10 or more,for a short time, to beat the unholy $#*! out of anyone in your way. I said sounds and until I get a chance to let loose with it I will not say yeah or nay on it.

10 additional pets eh? thats gonna be pretty cheap, if 1 pet is decent in most cases, 10 is more than likely gonna be teh pwnzors, even when the additional 10 are basic at best and in no way special, that plus the 6 henchman, going around with like 16+ helpers will probably make the MMs even more lazy lol.

Set sounds nice, I like the look and the 10 temp minions sounds like a cool power in some situations. Also the first pet group sounds like third pet in group is different. I have MM on my list of "to do" this just might be the set. Course they will be everywhere lol.

also anyone notice the motorcycle in the picture, wonder where that come from.

They stole it! Who is going to mess with 'the gang'. Boy, I can just see 'Scareface' 'Godfather' 'Vito' etc. running around all over the place. If they get those bikes, I can see the Hell's Angels being reborn...lol.

I am thinking that the motorcycle is what the Brute Thug uses to appear when you summon him. He rides in from somewhere dismounts the bike and awaits your orders, then the bike disappears.

As a fan of the Robotic group I want my ten mindless minions as well.

We can only hope and wish they throw a surprise in with I7. And that would not be a bad travel power either, however...it would have all the limitations of SS and how fast would the start/stop animations be? If you were in a PvP situation or doing a mission, how feasible would it be to mount and dismount a hog?

Vehicles would make a fun travel power. Just don't use a hog, get a crotch-rocket or rice burner for getting around those city maps.
Though I do agree that the motorcycles may be how the Thugs arrive when called.

I love to play summoners in any type of game, and when I came to CoV, my first toon was a necromancy MM. After a while, I tried out a ninja MM as well. I love playing these guys, but after a short while, their powersets left me feeling...unvillainous. I am totally looking forward to the Thugs, because Quite frankly, minions and duel pistols is the closest to perfect a character can get for me.

I think that while the gang war power will probably involve some RATHER weak spawns, it will probably make for some ridiculously cool moments. I can just picture myself clashing with a large group of patrolling hellions, my own army backing me up. The second I7 comes out, I will be making one of these guys.

I'm totaly with ya dude. This is the first time ive looked toward an upcoming issue for the power! the powers in the Thugs set sound awesome, Empty clips sound kina like full auto and gang war would be an excelent way to start a battle or when your loyal henchies start dieing.

A redname in the offical CoV forums stated that the motorcycles are how the thugs arrive. All of them, I belive... just said "thugs" so it could be any or all of them..

I saw a post by CuppaJo saying that the Gang War power summoned thugs on motorcyles. I don't, however, know about the other thugs. I try to stay away from the Official Boards.

I can hear the screams of stupid, unaware players now in PvP who get ambushed by a thug MM "ZOMG!!!!11shitft+1 to0 many petz! Masterminds are to powerful NERF THEM!1!1" Its gonna be fun to target a blaster and just call gang war on them. There'll be so many people he wouldnt know who to shoot.

My only concern about Gang War is that it may become LAG war, imagine a couple MMs on the Aracnos lag map calling gang war in a heavy battle **shudder**

This means it will probably be level scaled like the other summons. So at the first level its available, maybe only 6, but one you get to fifty, pray to the gods of lag that they avoid you.

I dunno but The tenebrous Tenetacles that Dark Servant cast seems very useful for Thugs Thugs seem like they lack controll /dark will easily help that

anyways I am thinking about making my THug MM some leader of an old heavy metal or punk rock band and gang war could be representitive of groupies and the bruiser was his old body Guard and the enforcers and 1st tiers were back-up either way is that an interesting concept?

Keep in mind though, the 10 summoned posse pets in Gang War will be very weak and will only hang around for a very short time before they go to beat up someone else's problem. So the fear that they will change the MM for good shouldn't be too big of a worry.

True. And using the example someone else used earlier, one good Build Up/Fireball combo could be enough to take the gang of maulers out of commission. I'll hold off my ooh's and aah's for the Gang War power until I actually see it in execution.

This don't have much to do with thug MM really but i just want to know wen u will be showing the powers and wen u get them like the other ones E.G. Super reflexes, invulnerabilty etc.

Yeah...about the lag issues. I get lag when ever i summon my assault bot. Maybe with I7 they throw in a lag controller or something like that[/FONT]

the 3rd of the basic minions is supposed to be a arsonist.
sad to say when i was on test server i came across a guy that had all but the brute guy and i forgot to look at what the arsonist does. can someone find out. and yes the posse is going to be weak guys and you cant give them comands and if you go into different zones they dont follow. then they leave when there up. but it is a great thing to pull as a oh crap save my butt type of thing. better than serum.

arsonist has 3 attacks when equiped. he has these little firecracker thingys that do aminor damage to a large mob but recharge almost instantely, brawl, and when equiped fire breath
