OK, I just got my hands on CoV trial and will buy it after the trail ends. But I'm just a total noob in CoV. It's WAY more awsome than CoH...ESPECIALLY THE COSTUME SYSTEM! WOW!
So can someone tell me what's different in CoV from CoH?! Where do ppl gather in CoV?! Is there a way to skip the boring tutorial?! How does the missions work?!
And most of all, what is the role of each archetype?! And where the heck are the healers?!

OK, I can't answer all of your questions, but I'll attempt at the AT one. Here goes my views of the roles of the AT's:
Brute-They take most of the damage, kind of like a tanker, but cannot take as much pain as one. They rush in, take a bit of damage, and dish a lot of it out. They try not to stop seeing as though the more fighting they are in, the more damage Brutes do. This sometimes gets the team into trouble...
Stalkers-This is the hitman of the AT's. You don't like that CoT boss, then let this guy go in and take him out in 2-3 hits. This AT is meant to specialize in 1 on 1 battles, but he already has an advantage before the battle begins. Stalkers take out one bad guy quickly, and then the team comes in.
Corrupter-Long range damage dealer, and buffer/debuffer. These guys are basically Defenders backwards. Very nice damage, and sometimes get double damage when the opponent is 1/2 or less. Perfect for those Boss or Arch-villains that won't die too quickly, Corrupters finish the battle quickly, yet still help the team with buffing/debuffing.
Dominator-These guys are controllers with damage. They specialize in keeping the "good guys" at bay, and when the time is right, begin their very own assault. Although their damage isn't as much as a Corrupters, solo'ing with a Dominator is easier than with a Controller. Domination, the Dom's special power, allows their mez powers to take effect for even longer, allowing you to attack more, and not be afraid of them breaking free.
Mastermind-One man team. These guys summon henchman to do their bidding, and can also buff/debuff. They don't always have a role on a team, but their minions can play the meat shield role fairly well. Not powerful to start with, but in the higher level's they get very powerful henchman. Best AT to solo with, IMO.
Hope this helps with the AT question.
And about the healers, as I see it, CoV is based on damage rather than buff/debuff AT, so they didn't give them healers because they go through the fight with almighty damage dealers. Corrupters and Masterminds can slighty heal, so that makes up for a little of it. But besides, who needs to heal when your team kills things fast?

First off, were you being sarcastic about that first part (Bad at telling saracasim from truth). I believe Corrupters are healers except Blasting Primary, Healing Secondary. There's no way to skip tutorial. Mission you go to broker either that or you can do three newspaper missions which are at the top of the mission select screen thing (click on the newspaper) after you do three of those you go to your broker and you will get a mission, usually a heist, and then sometimes your broker will give you contacts. People usually gather at fort darwin at the beggining but usually newbs, no real meeting spot though.

good source of info:
is cityofvillains.gameamp.com
as of yet cant skip tutorial
closest to a healer would be a thermal Corrupter, they have an AOE and a direct heal as well as thaw (a clear mind typpe of power) more in a bt work calls. their heals are far from minor and almost as good as a Emp on heals, they also have buffs and debuffs including fire sheilds to reduce damage taken, debuffs to enemy armor and damage so every bit as useful as a Emp def.
most the other corr's mirror their COH Def counterparts so the Dark Corr has the same heals/debuffs as the def they just get the attacks earlier and the buff/debuff/heals later

Let's see, all the costume options for CoV are coming to CoH with I7 (for those that own both) and yes they are awesome.
The main difference between the 2 is that the AT's in CoV are more offensive in nature. And with far fewer zones than CoH....I can't really tell you where people gather, I would guess Mercy Island but once you level up some theres really no reason to go back so.....
No way to skip the tutorial as of yet, CuppaJo says "Soon". Missions work the same way as in CoH except that in CoV if 2 or more people are holding the same mission, you can do one and have all of the missions complete. It's referred to as Mission Completion sharing. And to get new contacts in new zones, you first have to run some missions for a broker and they will introduce you to new contacts once they are happy with your performance.
I'm not sure if anyone has completely grasped the roles each AT are supposed to have in CoV yet. Brutes are not Tanks, Stalkers are not Scrappers, Dominators are not Controllers, Corruptors are not Defenders and MM's are....well, who knows. The AT's in CoH are much more defined and they're roles in a team setting are easier to establish. As far as "healers" are concerned, my personal opinion aside, the /thermal powerset for corruptors is the closest you'll come....as they are the only ones that get more than 1 heal, but they are overloaded with buffs/debuffs that shouldn't be overlooked by their ability to "heal".
Alot of these questions will be better answered by playing the game. Although I couldn't resist giving it a shot. Enjoy the game and welcome to the dark side.

Thnx for all the info guys. It's just so stupid that I have to do the same tutorial for every toon I build (and as a newbi I just wanna try different ATs).
So gonna get my hands on my darkest side. Thnx again ya'll!
FREEDOM:
Shadow Techman (Level 42 Claw/Regen Scrapper)
Galaxy Hertz (Level 10 Energy/Energy Blaster)
Thorn Weaver. (Level 29 Dark/Dark Scrapper)
Elite Smacher (Level 15 Invul/Energy Tank) (the c is a typo!)

On the lighter side if you go up the ramp near first contact go to top floor and enter far cell there is a badge in there so if you collect badges at least it's not a total waste and much easier than the outbreak one
Doc
also I'm pretty sure you dont have to talk to all the people between the mission (locker or troll) and the kill 2 mission

OK, three more questions:
1. How to you change the difficulty of a mission?!
2. Where is the green line?! Or red line or any transit!
3. Are there any hazard zones?! Like Hollows or Sewer Network in which you can pass 1 - 8 lvls easily in them?!

1. The fortunatas change dif
a one near darwin's landing marker in Mercy
one near stadium on port oaks
one near the globe in cap au diable that should get you started
2. ferry from Mercy to PO a ferry from PO to cap and a ferry to all other zones. there are also "helicopters" that go from zone to zone but not as familiar
3. No hazard zones but the begining zone is pretty busy and levels go pretty quick.

Diffoculty is changed by a fortunata seer, one in mercy island is right smack in thew middle of map (near the darwins landing marker and u'll find a building that is just a big archway. go to it.)
There is no green line per say, u have to hop from zone to zone to get where u want (bad news for the laggy types)
Hazard zones, umm i think hat it would be hazardous to go into areas that are above ur lvl in fighting. i would suggest doing the early story arcs til u get to about lvl 7-8 then tryin ur hand at port oakes.
Im sad to hear that now we are ur enemies, iceman. for some reason, im reminded of "the fox and the hound"...
See u in pvp... *cries a little*
Thanks to Death Fetish for kicka$$ siggy!!!

nah! I'm no villain. I'm working under cover! But I do miss Shadow Techman and Thorn Weaver and those funky techno beats in CoH zones. Will get back to CoH as soon as I find information on who nerfed phase shift for shadow techman ;P
