| Please Help...characters on a go slow!! |

Ive recently purchased the game City of Heroes. I have played this game at my friends house and it was great....however. I have now purchased the game and after endless problems we are now up and running except.......I create my character which is fine until I enter a city and he freezes and it takes ages just to get him to walk. He walks really slow and Im finding it really frustrating. I have purchased a new computer just yesterday which I was told would play any game? Please can someone help.

Hmm... what are the specs on your PC? That might shine some light on the subject. Also, there's a few other small ideas you might want to try. Have you tried starting the game in Safe Mode? From there you should be able to look at your graphics options and do some tweaking.
I also suggest checking out Transmission's guide and Bill Z Bubba's thread on turning your PC for gaming. Could help out with your problem.

By walking slowly do you mean it's lagging (things are choppy and game freezes everyonce in a while) or do you mean his speed of walking is too slow?
Also, to see what the problem is originating from, log in in an unpopular server like pinnacle early in the morning to see wether the lag is being caused by a whole bunch of ppl around spawn location or not.

You have come to the right place... there is a lot of expertise here at Game Amp. I however, do not fit that desciption but I do know that things like processor speed, amount of RAM and the speed and type of your ISP connection are important, as is your graphics card and settings. Check this thread frequently and the "real" experts who are members here will help, guaranteed.
