There aren't a whole lot of races to choose from, but from the four, which one are you most wanting to play. And of course why?
I'm totally torn between the Suwari and the Human. The reason for the Suwari is that they look so neat. I can't wait to see these guys in action (I love that tail!). And the reason for the human can be found right here.

More than the race selection, I want to be a gearsmith. I don't think the Suwari and Ilvari are great gearsmiths, and I don't want to be a Stoneborn. They are not cute enough. So the choice is easy for me. Human all the way.

Well typically I allow my profession to dictate my race. If I wanted a Warrior I’d be Human, and then I always use the name Hashum. I almost always however play an Elf so I’ll probably go with the Ilvari, in which case I’ll go with the name Queleri as always. I’ll probably go Ranger/Wizard and then have Hashum as an alt Human Warrior/Ranger or something like that.

Hum... I always pick my race first, then work with the professions available. It doesn't suprise me that I do it backwards from everyone else.

I can't seem to remember where all of this Profession/Race information is, could someone link it? Was going to refresh my memory as it's been awhile.

Our race page is very complete. You just have to click on the picture to get all the info.
As for professions, stratics has a pretty nice set up for that info. We are still working on getting all the info up on Gameamp for those.

After reading the scetchy details on stratics (who basically just copied mmorpg.com) it is clear there is still a lot unclear.
Since I am set on being a gearsmith, I apparently can't be a bard. Which is one of my favourite professions. The only gearsmith specific profession seems to be the gearknight. Although tanking is fun, from the description I really should be a giant meat and armor shield. Which usually doesn't really fit with the way my characters look. I guess I will have to take some liberties. And ask the Hero's Council to release more details :)

I will try looking into it today and see if I can find anything more specific about this stuff. Unfortunatly the forums there are not very user friendly so finding a topic can be difficult. From what I've read so far I haven't seen anything like this out there.
It also seems that most of the information the Hero Council has received has already been released to the public at this point. But I'll see if I can find something worth while.

I did take a look for this today and have found nothing. The HC forums are mostly just discussion on people's opinions of game mechanics like guilds, looting, history and what roll that has or can have in the game etc.
