So I've been gone a day or two now, want to know why?
It started out as a tooth ache. A while back I had a root canal on one of the bottom right teeth in my mouth. I never got it finished, it just had the temp filling in there. I know I know, dumb of me, but I'm forgetful.
So it starts hurting right? I go to the ER that night because the pain is just TOO MUCH. They call the dentist in (I'm in japan, so they called in a lady that spoke/understood english but had such an accent I could barely understand her). So she scolds me for making her come in to work at 8pm (hay sorry lady I got to the ER at 5pm, blame them). She looks around..
Appearantly the temp filling caved in. She gave me boo-coo shots in my jaw and scraped the broken temp filling out and refilled it. This took 5 hours. She gave me some Tylenol 3 painkillers and told me to come back in the morning for more work.
Ok, so in tons of pain. Took a lot of the painkillers overnight and the next morning.. Well lets just say my stomach and narcotics don't agree. So out waiting for the bus and luck out, a nice higher ranking guy gives me a ride to the office. Nearly lost it in his car, but managed to keep it together.
So I spend the next 2 hours in the dentist office bathroom till they finally call me back. This time, the guy speaks english better. Explains to me that I have an absess (think blister under the tooth inside my gums). So he says he might be able to clean the tooth out and drain the problem I told him to just pull the damn tooth >< Did I mention I was in pain and nauseas?
So tons more shots later .. finally the tooth comes out. Talk about a wierd feeling -shudder- So now I'm missing a tooth >.> I really hate dental work V_V
I Can only imagine what it's going to be like when they finally pull my wisdom teeth -_-

I understand your pain. I've had 5 teeth pulled and 2 or 3 root canals done.
all dental work is a pain.

Well, I've had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out. They had to put me under to do it, cause when the numbed up my jaw back there, I kept gagging on my uvula (the hangy downy thing in the back of your throat). Wasn't too bad till I woke up. Looked like a chipmunk from all the gauze in my mouth and I was afraid to close my teeth cause my tongue was so numb I was afraid I was gonna bite right through it. Fun fun. :)

Oh cool I didn't know you were in Japan. Oh wait the topics on teeth... Eh, good luck with that. I would have just tied your tooth with string and tied the other end to a car. 60km later tooth is gone if your not dragging under the car :P and after I turn on the car and hit the gas get a girl or a random person to distract you with other pain. Like a punch to the chest so you will be more concerned about your ribs then your mouth.

Zokushi, sorry to hear you had such a lovely time. It is horrible if they have to poke around in your mouth. It is just a small part of your body but you feel it everywhere. I hope the painkillers are working sufficient. At least it resulted in a bunch of great posts :)
