I keep playing CoH because with heroes the badges you collect add up to accolades and I haven't gotten a hero past 40 yet, but still have Atlas medallion, etc.. I'm just curious if I7 will include some of these things, or are heroes till going to have that one-up on villains still..
I've got my lvl 38+ villains, multiple AT's too, but I just want all those badges I've collected to mean something on that side.. anyone else feeling what I am here?

Okay, maybe it is around here somewhere, but what good are the badges? I see where they help a Super Group, but on a per toon basis, what is the advantage? Do you get prestige or infamy if you get them all?
I don’t hunt badges, if I get them then it is cool, but what else is there?

go to the cityofheroes.gameamp.com site..
then to badges..
then check out accolades..
You get health/end bonus's.. powers that are too numerous, and too cool not to have.. Crey Cryo pistol, 100% chance of holding someone in a block of ice.. ya, my fav..
um, too much to mention in all honesty, but make sure to look.. I get badges as they come normally, but if I am 2-3 shy of an accolade then I might go after them in depth..

For the most part, aside from a few Accolade powers, badges are just there for the "collectibility" factor of the game. The whole Pokemon "gotta catch em all" mentality that some people have. :)
In CoV, some contacts can only be opened up if you have certain badges. These contacts offer some pretty cool story arcs as well. For example, Johnny Sonata, in St Martial, is opened up if you have the Obsessed badge, for collecting 50 badges. The story arc he opens up is a pretty cool one where you're trying to bring his soul back to his body. In the end of the arc, you wind up fighting his soul, which is an AV.
There are lots of things like that in CoV. I assume accolades will be on the way, since there are missions that give badges.

Is there any CoV accolades that add bonuses yet? because as far as I know theres less than 10 accolades so far and the only ones that really help you are the 2 thorn ones that come with respec's.

None that I'm aware of yet. They're probably developing some and making sure they balance ok before mentioning them.
Personally I think they should have similar ones to the CoH ones, but who am I to judge. :)

It would have to be something villainess in nature. Collect certain badges and you can get a fury type temp power when used (increases damage output, increases defense and offers mez protection). Would last for 30-45 seconds and would have a very long recharge (2-3 minutes). Definitely one to use when battling an AV/Hero/Vindicator.

i looked at some of the accolades on CoH and some my friend had and i can honestly say...I WANT THEM!! lol they seem like theyd take forever to get but w/e you get a new power for it! lol hope theyre good in CoV...

Exorg, Devil Hawk, Battlegator.etc. etc. most of the other guys have very confuzing and hard to remember names. lol and Battlegator. that was great when you took all eight of us on and you still won LOL!!! And, finally, Air Shifter, sorry I bailed on Friday!!! I really am!

My pleasure. You can almost guarantee that if it has anything to do with badges.....I know about it. Accolades are one of the main reasons I've been doing alot of badge hunting with my villain lately.
Which reminds me, does anyone have a Crey mission to farm for the Paragon Protector badge on Freedom? :p

Whatcha really need is the bugged paper mission, chock full o' 7th Gen PP goodness

so far it seems to be in the "get Edgar's ID" (or something very similar) or "Defeat BOSS_NAME" (yes it says boss name). I had the Edgar one but not bugged. I found out about this when A L20 (or so) broadcast for help because his mission was full o' L36s (or thereabouts) so i went ahead and helped even though it was late and i was tired (i know not very villanous) and found the mission full of 7th gen PPs. Later later dame problem from a L15. Got the bright idea of watchiing the help channel (when it started) and after a few days "why are there L36s in my missions?" ... what level are you? "L6". so long story shory he got his mission cleared I got a little more progress, we all win. Unfortunately none were interested in farming. 2 missions were the Edgar one and 1 was Boss_Name. The edgar mish did have a boss name "Boss_name".

If I can find anyone that still has a bugged paper mish full of PP's, I'd jump all over it because I'm 95% sure that they fixed those missions a long time ago.
Speaking of bugged paper missions, ever try the one that had lvl 41/42 Lanaruu Elementals in it? Fun times that was.....yes, fun times. :p

As I mentioned last one i did was from a question on the HELP cahnnel, so no its not been fixed or if so very recently.

guess i'm not clear, i helped a L6 with this mission less than a week ago so at least recently you could get it. This person was asking why they got that mish and wanted it gone so i'm sure they handnt been holding, and when i mentioned the badge they werent aware.

I'll have to check into this. It would be much easier to get one of those bugged missions and get the badge that way.

I've been running strictly newspaper missions with my RonJ73 character. He's level 33 now. I've NEVER gotten the BOSS_NAME or bugged missions with Paragon Protectors in them. :( The only contact missions I ran were Kalinda, Mongoose and the Tailor missions for my costumes.
