Unless you want a specific skill from a certain build for a special purpose, a Ranger / Monk is a good allrounder...
The skills you should use depend on the type of ranger you want to be: spiker, trapper, etc.
EDIT: try to look around a bit on gameamp. You will find some nice builds here (R/Mo too!)!

Wow, well, you have chosen probably one of the most versatile primaries in the game, and then did not really give any information as to what you are intending to do with the build you are looking for. I would recommend searching the guides section for good ranger builds, there are a lot there probably, because there are a lot of ways you can go with a ranger: spiker, interrupter, conditions, trapper, and many others. So you are going to need to give a bit more information in order to get some decent help.

do you mean a pvp build? if so, i'd suggest ranger because you hvae so much ranger skills unlocked. what skils you will using depends on the party you're in, and if your going for random arenas, i'd say, try out something fun and make your own build :)
You could also take a custom pvp char and do some arenas, for example the pvp boon healer, just go to random arenas and make some factions, and buy new monk skills to improve your build.

Yeah I think its a good idea to make a ranger pvp char and just try what skill setup you like!

Well actually this would be my PVE char, Ranger is my main proffession I have it maxed out in marksmanship there is only one 15 attribute quest left, I'm lvl 20, I have ascended and I've been as far as the dragon's lair, quarral falls, droknar's, and the ice caves of sorrow(there are more, but those are the further-most points I've been to). I do have all the skills that I posted above, aswell as the other 5 proffessions as my secondaries. I would be looking for a build that would be good for farming. Also I have full druids, from lion's arch(that is all I can afford right now), a minor vigor, marksmanship, expertise, wilderness survival, and beast mastery runes on my armor, and archer's mask. I usally go queen farming as R/Mo(not important). Well tell me what you can do and I'll try it out!

As before builds are specific for what you want to accomplish. You can solo trap for money (dont want them damn hencies to take it). There are 2 main thoughts on Solo trapping. The R/whatever and the R/W build. The only diference is that the R/W needs "Victory is Mine" skill. I am not sure on stats but it give you health and eng when the baddies have conditions on them. That is an Elite skill so Spike trap( elite trap) can not be used.
Conversly i primarly use a R/M build and lets face it i am lazy and dont go change my profession and have not gotten the elite skill "Victory is Mine". I have WS at lv 16 Expertise at 13 and BM at 4 or 5. I bring all 4 traps (Dust Flame Barb and spike) QZ EW Sperpants Quickness and WD. i spam traps and then pull what ever i am trapping and watch them perish. FYI i have a +14 eng staff so i have 46 total eng.
