For those of you who have played other MMOs, I was wondering if when you play the game takes over your life (aka addict), or if you are one of those casual players who only plays for a handful of hours a night?
I myself try to be in the middle. I like to play my game every day for a few hours (like 3 or 4), and take a day or two off a week.
What is your schedule?

I have two schedules. One when I am home alone, and one if I am not. Which does happen weeks in a row. If I am not alone I play about 2 hours a day 7 days a week. If I am alone, I play about 6 hours a day, plus 12 hours in the weekend. On top of that I am on GameAmp several hours a day regardless. So I am probably addicted :)
And jeni, taking a day or two off a week does not put you in the middle group :)

Ok there is a possibility, that I fall under the addict catagory. But it is just a small possibility.

The only thing that waylays my addiction is the rest of my life. Work, family, home, etc... But for those, I would be a pasty white recluse that would die with a mouse in my hand.
Ok, maybe not THAT bad. :D

Ah, but Gameamp, does not waylay it. It feeds my addiction.
On a side note, I said waylay. :) I think the last time I heard that word was years ago playing Balder's Gate II on PC. :D

You have no idea how addictive GameAmp is. I am start playing all kind of games that I probably would have ignored if not for GameAmp. And then I am of course not talking about the endless wandering around of the GameAmp sites for news and fun forum posts. I am sure at the moment I spend way more time here than actual playing any game.

If it makes you feel any better, I spend more time on Gameamp than anyother game. And there have been many a days when I've gotten sucked into one of the various forums, and just completely lost track of time.
But w/ 29 sites, it isn't to hard to loose track of yourself.

Very true. Sometimes I lose a whole hour or two of my day just reading and replying to posts. Then there's other times where it seems they just can't keep up with me. I need more! :)

HUm... when I loose myself, it is usually closer to 3-4 hours. I don't know if that is good.

Well, it depends on the day and how active the forums are. On slow days, 1 or 2 hours. On active days, it can keep me busy all day. :)

I think having a "quota" makes you an addict in and of itself.

I think having a "life" is over rated *grin* of course I've never really had one. But Gameamp is a good place to spend some of that time you have!

What is a life anyway, except what you make of it?
Whew, that's enought philosphicalness for one day. Yeah, I don't have "a life" either, and I like it just fine that way. :)

As long as i dont have something that I need to do for my real life, I game whenever i want.
DAoC was my first mmo. I use to play til 4 am in the morning...
GW was ok... I was in Alpha, Beta, and a top ten guild, but it quickly died and I realized that not being able to jump is really really really frustrating.
WoW... getting to 60 was amazing. Getting into a raid guild as soon as i hit 60 even cooler. Doing the same raids for about 3 months really really really frustrating. And the only time I played was to raid/farm/battleground so i guess I could be caught playing about 12-15 hours a week, but that was simply because I worked so hard that I didnt find a point in quitting.
I have played some free games like Flyff, Priston Tale, Rappelz, which all sucked and I never got really addicted to.
Im hoping that AoC really makes me wanna play for fun rather than achieving gear or some stupid thing that makes me feel like im doing a required task and will end up falling behind if i dont.

Glad to see ya over here San. I think you will like AoC, they are going in a total different direction than wow so your questing and gear leveling experience should be different.
I think you will enjoy the cooperative play and the overall enviroment of it.
