i don't know if this has been posted yet but a-net has announced that u can buy additional character slots for 9.99 dollar.
yay, finanly more slots :D

But, lets be honest, are more slots needed? At first, maybe. It allows you to make more characters to unlock all the skills, runes and upgrades. However, once this is done, the only extra thing to do is PvP and you only need 1 slot for that since you can change it to whatever you need at the time. So at the start, this is a good idea. By the time you've got evrything, it'll seem like a waste of money.
Thats just what I've got to say on the matter.

Well I would say yes it can be considered "needed"
If you would like to play all professions, you will need 8 character slots at the release of Factions and then I would go for the option of 1 PvP slot at least.
Don't forget preview events often point out you have to have a free slot for it as well, but you could use the PvP slot for this anyway.;

The way im looking at it, you get 6 slots, 8 classes - right?
How many classes per character? 2 right?
8/2 = 4 characters required for each profession.
You can play thru the game 4 times to get each skill.
Now, 6-4 = 2 slots empty. This leaves: 2 pvp slots or 1 pvp slot and for hardcore pve'ers a hindsight slot where you know what each profession can do and so you can make what combo would really suit you.

well some people (me included) thinks there is a difference betweeen primary and sec and not all play pve just to unlock skills since that can be done faster with factions.
i play pve because i think its funny and i will need 1 more slot for getting all the primaries i want.
who would have thought that CPU and MOBO's could burn... or atleast they got toasted pretty good

plus....9.99 is a redick cost for something that isnt needed...the games costs enough and is perfect the way it is without any additional costs
