anyone have any idea when i7 will be out? I heard it was to be April 20,
but obviously that was a farse. Anyone have any info?

Have not heard a definite date. However, It should be soon. I usually wait until they post that it is going to Test first. Then and only then do I know it will be hitting live shortly there after.

The chances are pretty good that the release date will be April 28th, considering all the uproar revolving around the CoH 2nd anniversery sweepstakes and that the 2nd year anniversity itself is the 28th. They did state that it was to be released April, and April will be gone in a few days so if they plan to keep that goal they'll surely be launching I7 soon. April 28th is just the most likely canditate, even if I7 has been thrown on the test server or not.

Realistically, I think I7 will hit the live servers before the end of May.
It will be at least three weeks after it hits test, and if there are big problems, it might even stay on test longer. As it still hasn't been released to test, we're at lest 3-4 weeks out as it stands today.
There are rumblings that it may go out to test this week, so we'll just have to wait and see.
If you keep an eye out HERE, you'll be one of the first to know when it goes to test. Also as mentioned earlier, there will probably be a "pre-download" a few days before it goes live on test. You should get this when you exit the test client, and it'll start a download.

Minor patches are usually on the test server for roughly a week before they hit live.
Major patches, like Issue Patches are usually there for roughly 3 weeks, like Cal said. Don't expect to see I7 until mid-late May at the earliest. There have been some serious internal problems with it.

Just curious, what sort of problems have they been having and where did you find this out?

For the most part, you can glean quite a bit from sifting through the posts in the Test Server forum on the official site(s).
There are endless "When is I7 coming to test?" threads, and some of the dev's (like CuppaJo & Positron) have posted responses to the effect that it's still not ready for test, and that they have a few more 'stability' patches to put up first, or something like that...

lol, as i was wanting to get my hands on that respec before my pb hit 22...
but seriously, i will finally buckle down and do a respec at about lvl 27, and once i respec and log off, that next day it will hit the live servers. juts lettin ya know lol
like when u wash ur car and it rains.

The good news is we have a great weekend planned on the live servers. We have the big anniversary tomorrow and lots of great player run events all weekend so hang in there - the caffeine alert system should be going red soon. |
