3 UTComp Pick-Up Requests 

I apoligize if someone has requested this before, but I couldn't find the search button for these forums :(.

But is there any possible way to include weapon pickups in UTComp? I know on maps like DM-Goliath, where controlling the LG & Shock is pretty important, I'd like to know what my weapon pick-ups were.

Secondly, is there any way to make pickups give a *number of items picked up*/*number total spawned* statistic? For example, if you're counting 50a pickups, and 20 50a's spawned, and you picked up 10, could you give the statistic as "50a ---> 10/20"?

And lastly, is there any way to allow for there to be team totals for pickups? I'd like to see how my team does as a whole on either serverside or clientside demos when controlling maps.

PS - Thanks for UTComp, it's great and getting better by leaps and bounds every time a new version comes out.

It is harder than expected to tell the total number of items picked up during a game. As far as I know, the client does not receive that information, which leaves 2 options. The first is to simply divide the total time for a game by the time it takes for an item to spawn, effectively telling you how many times an item should be spawning, but this is unrealistic as it assumes items are picked up immediately after they spawn, which as we all know, is not always true. The second option would be to force 'item picked up' messages to be sent to every client, every time an item is picked up... However, this would be at the cost of increased bandwidth usage (very bad for 56k'ers!) and also could potentially be used for cheat makers, to display that information to you somehow.

Team total is definitely possible: we already transfer additional team information for the team overlay. We'll look into it.

This would not be that hard to impliment -- but it isn't a priority. Overall, the scoreboard is already becoming quite cramped, and people rarely utilize menu-based stats.

Weapon stats are definitely NOT going to happen, atleast not on the scoreboard. There simply isn't enough room (there wasbarely enough for the pickup stats =P)

Your second suggestion is more feasible since it doesn't take up much extra space, but no promises. The biggest issue of course being that you could hit your scoreboard midgame and see if your enemy has taken the armor...

too bad to hear about the "client counter for weapons" :(

but even a teamtotal of pickups (weapons/health/armor/dd) at endgame would be awesome.
