RE: a interesting question

the only ones that get on my nerves are the immature rage quiters. the second it gets thick, they curse the group for noobs and bail instead of having the matuirity to chill and lets things work thier way through

RE: a interesting question

I agree with what you say. I never join groups that say "pro this pro that" ... they always end up falling apart. I considder my self good, but I never brag about it or boast anywhere. its the bragging and boasting that you are picking up on, not that people considder them selves good. And the boasting or bragging personality is not good in a team effort, they are good for solo. LOL

RE: a interesting question

Hmmmm....there is no real answer to that, or at least no easy one. But, a experenced player does not really need to talk much, he can usually sense what is going on. This, at least for me, is true.

RE: a interesting question

I disagree, I think communication is very important for all teams. Saying Hi and congratulating people can really help to pull a team together. As an experience player it is your duty to pass on good stratagies and communicate with those who are new. If you are player with your guild mates or something, however, and you all know the area and its enemies well the speaking isn't a must.

I would never join a team that didn't speak, having a good conversation is sometimes what makes a mission, not just playing it.

On topic: I guess you're an experienced player when you feel you are. I've completed the game and got 15k armour but I've only been playing for 3 months. I wouldn't call myself experienced.

If you want a definition, I'm sure you'll disagree with me, I'd say: When you are on your 3/4th char and you've got 15k/FoW armour on all of them. When you've got over 60k in total as well. To have achieved all that you must have played the game tons and know all about it. Although you may just be an experienced character rather than an experienced player, I don't know.

Exactly! Especially for Monks, someone saying 'Great Healing' or 'Thanks for the Res, I owe you one' really helps boost your confidence.

RE: a interesting question

well i've been playign for 4 months and have got 3 chars to level 20 and think im pretty rubbish, and in my experience the worst player are the ones who panic when the group is all dead except them and try and fight a hoarde of monsters that they can't beat instead of tactically resurecting the rest of the group.

But that just me :p

I dont agree on the 15k armour. I'll prolly never buy 15k armour or FoW. They are just fashion statements and I dont think I'll ever want to sit and farm long enough to save that kind of money. I am sure there are others who are experienced and feel the same.

EDIT: BTW I dont consider myself an experienced player yet as I havent mastered all the classes yet or all aspects of the the classes I am proficient in.

RE: a interesting question

I can't stand people who call "I'm Dead" when they're k.o. I don't know anyone that doesn't watch their team's health, as if they wouldn't know someone is dead. If we're in the middle of a fight then it is better to either run and res in whatever oder you deam sutible or wait until the fight is over and then res everyone randomly. Calling "I'm Dead" just makes you seem impatient.

Another sign of someone who is not experienced is someone who calls random things, like health and energy and items, when it's not useful to know. I was once on a mission with someone who kept us informed of their health every 2 seconds. Sure, calling energy when you're low to inform your necros of a blood ritual boost is good but spamming. ARG..

I think you're right about getting FoW or 15k, it's not everything and someone could probably farm enough for those armours without being particualy experienced.

RE: a interesting question

i think that when ya experienced when u have patince: to let trappers trap, to let people tell how to do mission fast and clean instead running in it.
and u need to have FUN. some peeps forget that and farm solo every hour they play. i personaly thin that isn't fun.
what u guy's (women,girls) thinking

peace out

RE: a interesting question

I have never considered myself to be good or a pro..but i find that if people talk about themselves and their skills alot then it usually turns out that that's all it is..talk. If you are good and truly a pro then you dont need to say anything..just show it.

RE: a interesting question

i avoid anyone spamming their weapon, using the word pro, or talking too much. I also dont talk much, tho good manners is important anywhere. I always say hi to a team if i am a pick up, or hi to a pickup for my team, say gj on a successful mellee, or good team on a good run... and always always tell the monk when they have done a good job, and usually 'gratz' on a leveling or a great drop. Other than that, i will go an entire mission without saying much of anything, unless it's a word of caution about something i have seen here before, or a request to stop running ahead. I also consider myself an average player. *shrug*

RE: a interesting question

^^ I am the complete opposite man. I like to talk hile doing a mission as it keeps the party(generall-speaking) in a agreeable mood. Whenever I die I don't start cursing the crap out of my teammates. Often I blame myself for not paying attention enough, saying to the monk(s) good job on the healing(un-sarcastically), and just making a joke about my death. Especially when it was a easily avoidable death.

I have to disagree with you on one thing which sucks beacuse for the most part I like where this thread is from. As the monk in a party or more importantly the bonder of a party it is VERY important to call the second you die beacause damage will quadruple against warriors that you had bonded. And that my friend is something you need to know. Its all about comunicating relevant imfomations not just spamming or talking nonsense the entire mission. I can't count the times I've missed something important in the chat window (I'm on vent with my guild so its not number one priority to me) because up till then the person had been spamming and I had just "tuned it out" Any way as someone who has all 6 classes at level 20 with all secondarys unlocked for all of them I consider my self a well blodded PvE char. I have my !$@*&^ handed to me everytime I go to do PvP. So to conclude Being experienced at one thing doesn't mean you are a "pro" at diddily except sucking and dying at other things.

RE: a interesting question

i hate it to when people just run in a group off to much monsters and blame the monks for they're death. just when they would w8 for the team and go as a group they just (most of the time) dont die. but it's sometimes really the monks fault, because once i was in a group that had 3 monks and we died at first group -_-

peace out

RE

I might be a bit late with replying to the topic (lol im at work now soo....)
I dont think that there is an answer to when yull be a good player. And i dont think that talking much/ or less is a indication on what kind of player yu are. I talk during missions, but only if i know that it will not intervene with what the team is doing, or that it will distract myself from doing what im supposed to do.
I think talking can lighten up situations and boost the teamfeeling. Imagine a team which just goed in, kills, leaves, typ gg in the end, and yull see them never again.
I like teamwork and building. When im in a mission, fow, topk, uw or whatever, i dont hesitate to complement a fellow player on a good trap, lure, heal. An in return for that yull have a fun game with the other players.
I notice that as soon as the word n00b hits the screen, the party falls apart. Because the one that is spoken to feels insulted or whatever. I usually forgive stupid actions all the time (except when it is REALLY clear that that person(s) have no idea what theyre doing) and i often see that they will listen to tips, comments ideas. In that way they will become better players themselves.

And maybe that is what makes YOU a good player. To carry a team thoughout a mission, boosting their confidence, IF there is a point of improvement to make telling it them nicely on a normal way, and most importantly; let all enjoy the trip ^.^

EDIT: just read the last reply above me and theres the thing people do too often in a mission; blaming the monk. I always say 1 thing to that when i see that (since i think monks have a really hard job to do and most monks i know do it very well and dedicated); a monk is a person too and is dependant on energy; his/hers own situation; and general overview. So make sure that yuself can fill up some healing yurself (mending; healing breeze; aura of restauration; ether feast; soul leech) to give then some rest and more time to make descicions. What also is very noticable is that it is always warriors who blame the monks for them dying. I might be wrong; but are wammos not supposed to be able to take care of themselves most of the time? Or is that just a assumption from the wammo jobdiscription?

RE: a interesting question

soem warriors need to take care of them selfs but sum dont. u have warriorss that are totally focused on dmg and dont have heall spells with them, but they need to tel the monks that so the monks can heal them more.
and btw: when i want to use heal sig im fully healed so i just take it not then and i have the bad monks that dont heal(1 was later 55hp). bad luck or just euhh....
