Well, I have played quite a few builds to around level 10 to experiment with different power sets, and I decided I am making a fire/something corrupter. After narrowing it down to ice, DM, or thermal radiation, I am going to you, the people, for advice on the last one. I enjoy helping my team out, and I feel it would be best to ask my potential teammates the question! which?

First off, Unwelcome to the site!
Secondly, if you are going for the team concept, Thermal radiation is a viable secondary. You have thermal shields to buff, healing for teammates and a rez for the ocassional team wipe.
Just my 2 infamy worth.

aye thermal is one of the best for team support..
now the big question.. do you heal first or nuke first.. if you heal first definatly go with thermal if you nuke first I would go with DM or kinetics(although kinetics is alot of support alot)

My villain in the IoGA supergroup on Triumph is Fire/Dark ..
I must say, I've taken pretty much AoE's with him, and only tend to run in groups with him, because he draws way too much aggro on his own, but to answer why I made Fire/Dark..
Step 1. Tar Patch (3 Recharge/3 slow)
Step 2. Darkest Night (3 tohit debuff)
Step 3. Rain of Fire (2 recharge/2 acc/2 dam)
Step 4. Fireball (2 recharge/3 acc/1 dam)
Step 5. Hide because everyone in the group of enemies hates you!!
I've ran in groups where I'll either try and stay in the group to crack off the great heal dark comes with, or do the AoE thing listed above and get the -ahem- knocked out of me.
I do have a couple single target blasts mind you, for pulling and/or finishing off those that are just in need of mercy killing..
But ya, I like Fire/Dark best for a build..
Forgot to say that the way this helps out the group.. You have all the aggro on you so when you hide stalkers can walk in and lay a smack down, or letting lower level brutes be able to not take all the punishment at one time. The only thing is you have to be speedy and hide after you gather the aggro or have a dedicated healer on you. Dominators are like this build as well, pretty much AoE and hide..

I think I am going to have to go with /thermal. Though, now I am not so sure about my main, though It will be either fire/ or dark/, I guess I'll know when the moment comes.
The real clincher was when I realized I intended to play a lot with my two friends, both of which are pretty self-focused players. I have seen my friend play a healer, and quite frankly, It aint pretty.

I have a Ken Corrupter with electric blast. I love this build because Ken is a great power set for buffing and healing team mates.
You get very powerful attacks and buffs in the 30's from it not to mention travel powers in the kenetic set in the lower lvls.

As stated earlier therm is a good team secondary, Katie 80 L40 is therm and its a lot of fun and at times a white knuckle experience. But if you are with pickup teams be ready for the occasional comment on the heals. As long as you have good teams it wont be a problem. Dark is good as well and good AOE heal, but not as "direct", one of my 50s in COH is dark and its fun and not as much pressure on the heals since they are not "T3H H3AL3R". As far as primary fire does more damage dark debuffs.

Dark is a very good secondary, Darkest night and Tar Patch are amazingly helpful.
