So, here is what I want to know, what is your favorite bow string and why. In other words, what is the best bow string in your opinion.

Er, best bow string is, er. 10/10 penetration one because the extra damage at no cost.
They all suck really though :) 5/1 Vamp is nice for it's damage though aswell.

Depends. Elemental mods are good for conjure spiking and for getting around that heavy warrior armor. 5/1 vamp mods give you a slight regen and deal 5 damage/hit. More life if you are attacking faster.
Sundering mods, as shown by, I *think* GStricto here on the forums, are not as damage improving as the vampiric mods.

You dont lose Health Regen though (not that that's that much of a problem though).

I think the zeales bow string is a good one.(sry I dont know how to spell zeales)If your a good barrage ranger you can get lots of energy quikly

Yeah. The sundering mod doesn't cause life degen, but even with normal attack speed on a bow, you gain like.. .2 life second as long as you attack. Not much, but enough to keep you from LOSING life, which is all that matters with that mod really. Just make sure to switch it off if you aren't attacking.
And I totally forgot about zealous mods. Those are AWESOME. You lose 1 pip of energy regen, which = 1 energy per 3 seconds. Even with the slowest bow out there, you gain 1 energy ever 2.3 seconds, which is faster. Using faster bows (shortbow) and a speed increasing stance (Tigers Fury is my fave) and you'll be gaining double the energy you lose from the regen. But once again, only while you attack.

Yeah, I've been throughing the barrage+zelous combo in my head for awhile, only I wasn't sure if it would work with barrage.
Though now with factions out the max sundering is 20/20, so that may be another good option.

it all depends 100% on your build
i often swap strings on my fav bows to suit a new build or something im trying as most are inexpensive enough at a K oe 2.. excpet for sundering which is well ... ill keep my opinion to myself
the right string can, and does make alot of difference
but to say which is best .. well, that depends on your skillbar ... and to some degree your bow choice can affect that as well

oh, and one thing to ponder .. Barrage in and of itself is not energy reliant of your attribute are set right .. i can barrage all night wihouth even thinking about my energy levels ... Zealous strings only serve to help recharge the other skills on the bar faaster, not Barrage
