For those who do not know my situation it is that since I have a dial up connection with a screwed up phoneline I can only play guild wars when I visit a relatives house. So I have not played faction's yet.
All the info I have gotten off of the site is mostly bad news.
MM's were SEVERELY nerfed (I just perfected mine)
Farming is basically worthless in Cantha(i like farming)
The new skins for weapons and armor from Cantha BLOW.
Also the focus is mostly on missions(dont get me wrong I like missions the first time but after that SNOOZE FEST)
I might just keep the core game and waste my 50 bucks on another game. Should I still buy it?

Atm the new pvp sucks but w8, just 28 for the luxon vs. kurzik battles, they ROCK

Factions may be seen as an expansion, only with the name of "stand alone game" !
The features are mainly an major upgrade to the first chapter.
Skins depends on taste. I like them.

*sob* *sob*, MY NECROOOOOO, MY BEAUTIFULL MM, i tried to go on an ettin run with my necro today, and i could BARELY keep 6 of them alive.... ive never said this about ANY update ( i.e nerf) but ANET, i believe you made a biiiig mistake. My necromancer was the only reason i chose GW Over WoW, now what reason do i have to play GW anymore? oh well, i guess my ranger is second in line, gonna try and play with her now. I hope ANET makes this MM nerf WORTH IT.... *sigh*

Ok, let me get this straight, A-Net nerfs basically all gold dropping monster apart from in FoW or UW, now they've nerfed NECROMANCERS! They have *beep*ing gone way to *beep*ing far, bunch of *beep* licking *beep*heads!!

Dude thats not the point, people spend hours getting their MM build right, and practicing it, and now all that is gone... they basically have to start again.

hence the point in balancing it out. if ppl with perfected mm builds went to cantha they would own it and the econmy will go down. hence the balancing.

or just give the monsters in ToPK more piercing protection.
Personally, i'm glad the mm got nerfed. Everyone was doing the same old thing over and over (like 55 farming). A-net is trying to entertain you guys. Give them a break, they were hoping for people to make more builds, but people havn't. So i guess nerfing one thing is a way to make sure that people make new builds.

Ive heard in factions they are adding a new minion (flash golem ??) ive heard they are bad a** (heard) and you dont need millions of them...
Also, i liked watching the MM's go at it, i thought it was cool.
But i REALLY hate going to Elona Reach and finding 50+ friggan Mo/W bots farming the hell out of Minotaurs
i Have a 55 Mo and i Farm all this time, but they need to nerf the 55's BAD... its not making it fair that i have to farm 24/7 just to keep up with bots...

well lets see mainly because THEY WERE FUN! the were IMO the funnest class, i loved farming in ascalon, the dragons gullet, and geting TONS of minions jsut for fun! NOW THATS GONE FOREVER (unless a miracle happens)

I think it's unfair to say that MMs are 'severly nerfed' unless you have access to ALL skills, including the Flesh Golem someone mentioned. Everyone was saying how awesome that was going to be, and of course it occurred to people how ueber the MM would be. Makes sense then, if something has been taken away to make room for this potentially unbalancing skill..
I love the new look stuff *shrug*
Farming has been nerfed? Good. It wasn't a great feeling to me to be wandering around Shing Jea Monastery seeing people shout, "LFG farming". A whole gorgeous new place to explore and people want to FARM? *shakes her head*
Hasn't the emphasis always been on missions? Also, many of the 'farmers' happily do quests like FA over and over and over.. again.
There's LOADS to do. Explore the new land, pick up some quests and get varied rewards, do a few missions, go capture a pet, go kill some stuff, explore, open the way to/from Tyria/Cantha with all your chars., get more skill points with your old chars. doing something different, explore, sit around and chat, help people out, find all the new towns, join an alliance... did I mention explore? I could go on.. (you know I could :P)

even with only like 4 minions if one is a flesh golem it owns hardcore.

What I can't stand is how every topic gets hijacked with crying over the update. Get over it people. The updates make it more interesting and balanced. What you should be crying about is the bots and scammers that ruin things for the rest of us.

sure it will take a lil longer to load but if u like the game and u want somethign new to do get it
alls i have to say tho is after i get that hammer elite that does dmg per hammer adrenal skill i will be happy then iw ill say ITS HAMMER TIME
but yes get factions ;)

*sigh*, have you even got a necromancer character which is an MM? I figure from your remarks, that you DONT, 4 minions, DO NOT own, with the fact that the new bone horrors have reduced damage, (theyve now become vamp horrors, they heal YOU, not themselves) and the fact that you CANNOT heal them properly, the sacrifices have become too stringent, its in NO WAY, balancing, I believe theyve nerfed the MM, and put him, BELOW other classes, the new bone golem, is nice, but thats about all, you can only raise one of them, in all ways, 3 fiends and 1 golem cannot stand against some of the harder creeps in the game.... *sigh*
