I bought factions the day it came out and i have been playing it a fair amount. I have a ranger and a ritualist, both in the presearing island. So atm im not worried about the topic im about to ask about.
I NEED EXPLAINATIONS FOR LUXON/KURZICK
Im so confused right now about factions battles and who controls territorty and stuff. Can someone give me a basic rundown of the battles and who controls what. I also would like to know how many ppl participate in each battle.

Yea, i'm confused too. I heard that your guild leader like picks a side or something. If that's how it goes can you only get your sides armor?

No. Once you progress far enough to "choose" a side, you can still port over to the other sides places if you choose to. You can only talk to the merchants from the side that you have the most faction on however. And if you redeem faction at a faction reward person, you lose 1000 faction from the side you are not on, if you have any accumulated. (if I spend luxon faction, I lose kurzick faction, or vice versa)
I'm luxon atm, and I can still port over to kurzick side and do missions, etc. But after each mission I have to port to a luxon town, or a neutral town to unload my inventory. The only downside I have noticed is getting keys from the side that you arent on.

I'm pretty sure that u don't have to choose the same faction as ur guild, the only reason the guild leader chooses a faction for the guild is that so, when u battle, u r fighting for a particular side.
As for the armour, i think, if u have a certain amount of faction points with either faction, u will be able to buy that faction's armour
I am not entirely sure about this, so please correct me if i'm wrong :D

right as for the guild faction thats only what the guild leader wants his/her guild to be luxon or kurzick so they can fight in alliance battles of there chosen side
alliance battles are where you earn kurzick/luxon faction points which you can use to boost your alliance faction at the top left of your guild information thingy(when you press G) it either says N/A for not chosen yet Luxon or Kurzick.
you dont need to use faction for armour some people use there faction to get the amber and jadeite peices that are required for the armour you can just buy them in merchants
Luxons-luxons reside in the jade sea north east of the map theres nothing much different between the luxons and kurzicks but they both have there uniqe armours like for luxon the warriors is a beskerkers armour prove me if im wrong as for kurzick they have there sentnials armour for warriors luxons need the jadeite and the kurzicks need the amber
the border line in between the luxons and the kurzicks shows which side is acheiving more it changes every 24 hours i dont know much about the border line but it moves according to luxon guilds kurzick guilds taking over towns on the map or something.
as for scenary luxon has the jade sea the kurzicks have there petrified forest
the kurzicks are goth looking people as for the luxons there more like um..... who knows :P Cred if this helps plz :P
