ive decided to email their support. heres what ive decided to put
-------------------------------------------
Hey, recently (about over the last 2-3 days) i have been experiencing really bad lag whist playing Guild Wars. For the past 2 months i have played finely with ignorable amounts of lag or no lag. Now normally there isnt any lag outside in towns and such, nor in places like Talus Chute, but once me and my friend are in the Underworld, thats when it starts to happen.
Some effects i get are - Freezing on spot, Bunny Hopping, Not being able to use skills, not being able to Emote, not being able to talk, and also last time this happened i ran around the underworld and Enemies didnt attack me, my friend said i wasnt moving and i couldnt pick items up.
i demand to know what could be causing this lag, i doubt its because of the release of Factions, i also doubt its my connection because im on 2Mbit Bt Broadband. Also my computer exceeds the Recommended specs for the game.
Thank you for your time, i look forward to hearing from you

Yes, lag has been brutal for me as well sometimes. Unplayable in some cases, and I have an excellent connection and my computer exceeds reccomendations as well.

I've been getting horrible lag on and off since Factions came out. I'll suddenly just freeze while I'm doing a quest or something, which really ticks me off. I'm still on Mayhem in the Market, for that reason...

Me too. I've never had this kind of lag in Prophecies, so I know it's not my PC or internet.

My guild mate an I where also experiencing this lag outside of The Marketplace and in the Undercity. It would last for like 20 - 30 seconds and then go away. The connecting and loading screens also seem to hang occasionally. I think it could be because of the overwhelming # of people playing the game now-a-days. Other than that I'm clueless as to what it could be.

Hello Ruzeen,
Thanks for contacting the Guild Wars customer support team. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing lag while playing Guild Wars. Our server teams are constantly monitoring our servers to provide the best gameplay experience possible for everyone playing Guild Wars.
To help us determine the cause of the problems you described, please download our NCsoft Network Information Tool ( ftp://ftp.guildwars.com/diag/netinfotool_allos_gw.exe ) and provide us with the following information. Please conduct these tests at the moment you are encountering the lag problems (you might want to run Guild Wars in windowed mode to be able to react as fast as possible).
Test 1:
- Type “netstat -n”
- Please send us the output of this command
Test 2:
- Run the Network Information Tool, and wait for it to finish the tests
- Attach the "network_data_GW" text file that the tool produces
Furthermore, please provide us with the following details on your internet connection:
-What type of connection are you using (Dial-up, broadband, cable, etc)?
-Who is your service provider (AOL, NTL, Zen, etc)?
-Are you using a router? And if so, what is the exact model description?
As soon as we receive these details, we will be able to further investigate the issue you were reporting. Thank you very much for your understanding and your cooperation.
Regards,
The Guild Wars Support Team
