Super Speed Swim 

OK...I was thinking about one of my favorite movies "The Incredibles". In the movie there is a character named Dash that has super speed just like in the game CoV/CoH. When he got to the water he was moving so fast that he could run on top of the water for a very cool wake effect behind him.

I think it would be awesome if super speed did that instead of swimming. Swimming really fast is definately not cool as compared to the Jesus trot.

Send me your thoughts.

I agree with you fully on this one. I was very disappointed when my first SS char started swimming.

I agree, this would be a nice visual, however, once you stop running and still in the water...do you fall in or just hover above?

u fall in of course. I think that the swimming thing was just lazy programmin but it would be cool to run over top of the water at super speeds. I am disapointed with the flying over water thing. It doesnt even create a wave but just a splash. I think there needs to be the mosses looking wave thingy behind u when u fly.

On another note super speed and flight should be combinable. But this would never happen b/c everyone would get hover and use ss with it to create flight.

I agree, it would look cool, but then you would have extra graphic process. Some systems have a hard enough time processing water reflections or any other water effects as is, so I can see why they didn't do it.

As for the SS with Fly, Ya it would be cool if they did that. Only let it work with Fly & not Hover to solve that problem. Or they could just increase the speed of fly & make it as fast as SS or close to it. As it stands now SS Base with NO Enh. is 64.43mph. Fly is 56.26mph with 6 +3 SO's that should at LEAST be the be base for flight with No SO's. That way it still would not be as fast as SS slotted the same way.

I remember, back when I frequented to Official Boards, that there was talk of this. I t hink the reason they dont have this is because some red-name (I think CuppaJo) said that, at this ccurrent time, they didnt have software that recognized whether or not you were moving/over water. Because of this, you would just stand on the water when you stopped running

Huh i thought that they would just program it in. like when ss is activated and object hits water object continues in running mode and when object stops object goes into swimming mode.

Then again i never programed any game ever. Then again have u noticed when u r fighting in the water that u r standing in the water like it is a 3 ft swimming pool. Same thing if u get knocked down or do a emote. In my opion that has 2 get fixed first before we can be jesus.

How about when you stop running (on water) you just do an animation of running in place like a jogger at a crosswalk.

That running in motion is called lag :). I dont think that would work b/c who wants 2 use end when they arent moving. Even though SS doesnt take away much i dont think it would work. People get hover 2 deal w/ this stoppping when using flight since the end drain is huge w/o enhancments.

Yea that would be cool running on water because it looks more like you actually have SS but Fly and SS put together would be cool but the only thing SS affects if you running speep and Jumping speed so that would not be realistic but i do totally agree with the running on water

I think that you should fall in when you turn super speed off, because as long as you have it on, I think the idea is that your metabolism is so fast that you're still moving fast enough that you look like you're stationary.
