This is very variable since many people don't realise it's true value or have the CE and just want a very quick sale, regardless of the profit.
This means it sometimes goes for as little as 100k, you can get lucky and find someone selling for that rather quickly or you might have to take a while to scope the place out and find one.
Generally I should make sure I have at least 300-450k to be able to afford it at it's current average price though.

Thats because some people see minipets as a ripoff in general. They arent rare items and everyone will get a mini sooner or later so their value will decline. Some people already know that their value has declined since there are about 1M people playing GW right now...which means there are prolly about 300,000-500,000 minipets out there on average.

The reason people find them a ripoff is because they have no real use, they're purely visual.
However - and this one of those things many people have yet to realize - the use of an item has only little influence on it's value, the major thing that defines an item's value is rarity.
