hi people, how you doing?
here's the thing,
I have installed CoH, downloaded and installed the updates/fixes and registered (hoping that i won't be charged for my first month).
The problem is, when i go into the game, type in my account name and password, click login, the game closes down altogether/completely and i go back to my desktop.
any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
P.s. i have more than the required system requirements.

Welcome to Gameamp Gizmo89! I know one common problem for new users is that their firewall will not allow CoH to connect (but I'm not sure if that is the case. I can program computers, but thats about where my knowledge stops. Anywho, I'm sure there aer some tech-savy people on this site that would be more than happy to help!

1st off Welcome to the site! Sorry it had to be under the conditions of your game not running. I'm not a tech person, but we have a couple of troubleshooting threads you may want to read. One is here the other here. If these don't take care of the problem let us know... there are quite a few people here who are good at walking people through problems.

i'll gave the firewall "disabling a try", and would you beleive it, still the same :(, but thanx all the same,

sorry to say that i have scanned my pc for spyware, adware and updated my graphics card drivers and it is still the same :(

I hate to suggest this one, but have you tried uninstalling CoH completely, then reinstalling?

Have you tried posting it in the Technical Issues and Bugs forum on the Official Boards? I know my friend BillZBubba "patrols" those things, helping everyone out.

i'll give the forums a look, cheers.
i really would not mind reinstalling the whole game, if it was for the damn fixes/patches/updates. my internet has been a piss take the whole weekend, because appaerently people are downloading too much too often, besides the good part, which is you can download as much as you want a month and don't have to watch how long you surf (so far: touch wood). the first attempt at the updates took nearly 2-3 days. the last try took me just a whole night, which wasn't too bad. :( :s
But if you really think i should try a fresh install, i'll try it, just for you ;)

yeah the first time i tried visiting the official CoH boards that happened to me to. you have to login to the boards using your playNC account name and password i think.

ok, here's the latest update.....
I shared my CoH folder over my network and transfered/copied the files to another computer, just for the sake of seeing what would happen. Suprize suprize, it still done the same thing, so now I've uninstalled it, and currently reinstalling it as i'm typing this. I'm kinda guessing that seeing as the same files hasn't worked on two computers, with roughly the same spec, little co-incidential imo, but i could be very wrong.
anyway, the reinstallation is worth a go ah?!

I played CoH for almost a year total. But currently *sigh* I don't have an active account. In the near future I do hope to join everyone back in Paragon City again.
As for music... well I listen to a wide verity of music. But one of my fav songs (and one I LOVE linking to!) is this one.

25 other games :) You can pull them down from the top of the screen next to where it says "SWITCH GAMES". Although. not everybody plays all of them. I can even safely say nobody plays all of them. But we have some addicts around here that are trying. *looking very innocently*
Personally I don't use xfire. I am already swamped in in-game chat as it is. No need to add even more to it. But it is quite a nifty program.

I tend to play quite a few games right now. Usually doing two at a time (I'm not sure my brain could handle more than that). But then I also feel the need to play the game of the site that I'm working on (I get bounced around quite a bit), so I can understand what the community is talking about. So I'm sure edventually I will have tried all 29 games on the Gameamp Network.

*points* And it seems one of them is Dreamfall! Sorry... just had to comment on the avatar. I bought the game not too long ago myself... then promptly found out it had a prequel and bought that too.
