RE: Rogues

well I see alot of troll rogues and gnome rogues for some reason. and they generally use dual daggers and throwing weapons for ranged attacks.

RE: Rogues

all depends on what racial traits you want for your rogue. I'm not going to repeat this again, you can look up all the races racial traits on the character creation screen in WoW.

Their weapons are vast, but the most used are daggers and swords. You usually want a quick dagger in your offhand so you can apply poisons more frequently regardless if you're an ambush rogue or sinister strike rogue. As for main hand, a sword with a high atk speed is great for Sinister strike, since SS is dependant on your energy meter, not the weapons atk speed. So you get stronger SS's. Main hand daggers, I just use whatever daggers are out there. Not a lot of daggers out there, so i just go for highest dps.

RE: Rogues

i have a lvl 43 rogue and its u/d but think trolls are good but u/d are more populare well thats wat i herd.
and wen i got to lvl 20 i started useing bows therer way more helpfull than throwing but guns can get better dmg so choose wysly if u want gun or bow and wen i got to lvl 40 i also started to use a main hand mace but i would still cary around my dagger for use like ambush and back stab (trust me keep it ambush is realy good if u put talent points on it)

RE: Rogues

the coolest and i think funest rogue are the undead but if your just starting to play WoW i dont think you should be a rogue.
a good class to start out with would be a hunter cuz pet or warlock cuz there pets there fun to play easy to play and easy to lv.

RE: Rogues

I'm currently rolling a lvl 33 dwarf warrior the only problem is it's hard to decide just what weapon set up I want to stick with I've been rolling dual swords but I've recently purchased a nice strong 2 hander to see wich one drops an enemy the fastest. I'll get back to you with my findings as soon as I get my new time card...heh my accounts currently on E.

RE: Rogues

well the only reason to stick to a weapon is later on in your talent tree you will come across weapon specializations and to unlearn talents costs gold so I'd rather not have to go back and change it if you know what I mean lol.

RE: Rogues

Ive gotta char on burningblade as a dwarf/hunter, their boomsticks are fun to play with. Im still learning how to play so I just decided to go off the deep end and play a different char on a few diff servers, nothing too extreme mind you. I still work a main char on daggerspine nightelf/druid.

RE: Rogues

other classes can use guns too, if you want to play with boomsticks (guns). Warriors, rogues can use guns as well. And you can use as many weapon types as your class can use at any time.

What the above post is saying, is that some TALENTS are better specced for certain weapons, hence spending gold to respec. But as for just using a weapon, u can switch weapons at any time, and you're never stuck with just one TYPE of weapon, ever. Your weapon SKILL will have to be brought up to par with your current level. So if you pick up a new weapon, and have never used that type of weapon before, you should practise on low lvl mobs, and not just equip it and run into a normal fight. Or you'll notice low impact hits and lots of misses. You'll also see your weapon skill fly up at first, gaining like 10 skill points on the first fight alone.

RE: Rogues

personally I find taking a weapon you have never used to fight a higher lvl monster is a good idea, though be sure that you can still survive the fight, as it raises your skill in that weapon much quicker. Opposed to going and hunting down some weak monsters, then moving to another area to fight some stronger ones, then moving to another area to fight ones around your lvl.

RE: Rogues

IMO the best race for anything is human. As a human you have the best racial in the game: Diplomacy. If you're an end-game player that extra boost makes it a whole lot easier to get happy with factions for rewards.
If you want to PvP then roll Gnome for Alliance or Orc for Horde.
Gnomes are tiny little buggers, hideous IMO but very hard to see in PvP. Orcs get stun resist which is a god-send in PvP.
