Well since the NDA has been lifted I was wondering if we newly appointed testers could talk about our first thoughts and impressions here on this board? Share tips and talk, sharing the EQ2 beta with the rest of the community. I know this would usually be confined to the station.com beta boards, but this would more along the lines of a journal then a critique. So before I post or disclose any thing I will wait for the Eq2 GameAmp sight admin to pass a verdict on this, so as to not violate any NDA clause I may be unaware of.

I cannot speak for the whole gameamp staff, but in reference to the NDA, it has been fully lifted and all information regarding Everquest 2 may be released publicly with no consent of SOE.

Well then I guess I will start with limited experience thus far on the beta.
I found that I had to drop $200 on new Video card since my old one was unsuported, some of you may find your selves in similar situations. Basicaly if you have NVIDIA GeForce MX type crad you are screwed ~ you will have to upgrade to the FX type or another brand entirely. Basically you need at least 4 texture filters capable of vertix and pixalted shading.
My actual playing time has been limited because client instability but what I have seen has een extrodianry! The screen shots do not do this game justice, and the character customization looks promising.
Ill update you all later please feel free to post questions for the comunity Beta testers. Right now I am going to try to log in...

Orchist and I have been talking about it and I think that if you guys are playing on Beta 2 you can hang out with us in game. We have a small guild called Imperium. My character's name is Kroma, he is a 19th level crusader at the moment.
Currently we are working on stuff for the website so we aren't online as much as we would like, well at least not truly playing the game. But look us up when you can.

Bad Ass, no?
So far I am very pleased with the Game, wait wait... I am... Obsessively fixated with it! The lighting is awsome, closest to RL I have ever seen.
Cabal I'll send Gmail to you're avatar presently thx for the guild invite.

Well I have spent the last two weeks obsessing over this game, and I have come to some startling conclusions. The best class to play period is a priest! Followed by Mages, then fighters and lastly scouts.
This is extremely disappointing since I had hoped the scouts would be more playable then in the past, sadly though this is not the case. Also projectile weapons are expensive and not really a viable means for combat starting out. So this will likely limit the amount of rangers to the very hardcore goody woodseys.
So my planned Erudite Ranger may not be practical, although Uber cool.

Scouts are a very welcomed sight starting in the teens in groups. They disarm traps from the chests that fall...turn the tide of Heroic Opportunities...and can out damage just about anyone in pure damage alone. We've had groups before that fell apart when the scout left the group simply because we could no longer do enough damage to drop the mobs before the healers ran out of power. They suck before level 10, but then they really come into their own.
