okay...I'm tryin the 10-day trial, and I find the game interesting, if not wholly confusing...though I'm starting to piece some if it together...lol.
My big question, though, is can you sell your extra loot somewhere? I've got 3 bags full of stuff I don't need...

Yes, you can. All NPC's in the HQ's and the ticketmaster outside can buy stuff. But they have a sell and a buy tab. First click on their buy tab, and then drag stuff into it.
And welcome, Cali! Which server and race are you playing?

Hiya!
I'm also trying out the Free Trial at the Spirit server.
Brought up my Cora Ranger Twanni to level 13 and am now trying a warrior, Samhaige.
My Noob Question is, how important are the Quests really?
With my Ranger I made the mistake of thinking I'd level up before trying on monsters that kill me in two, maybe three hits but apparently you're supposed to spam healing potions. According to local chatter anyway. As a result I "lost" a couple of Quests as there seems to be a Level cap on when you can complete them?
Cheers!

Doh!...I didin't think of dragging the stuff onto their sell tabs...lol. I saw them, but thought allowable sellable items would maybe show up ala CoX, etc...lol.
I'm playing a Cora Warrior on Spirit, 'cause that's what I heard all the cool kids are doing these days...

Little tip: Shift+Click gets them to the sell table without all that dragging. :-)
Now another question, how do you switch between Mouse & Keyboard set-up? I switched by accident once but after relogging it was back to Mouse.

Press H. I did it by accident last night also. Took me a bit to figure out just how to do it. :)
So that was you lani. I saw you runnin around a bit last night, but didn't say anything. I was playin a warrior myself last night. Rynan was the name. I got him to lvl 14 last night before I quit for that night.
Apparently the way to play is to spam pots. I figured that out on my own playing my cora warrior. It's easy to do too as I was buying 99 healing and mana pots at a time and still making plenty of money to cover the cost and then some. And I wasn't even selling everything that dropped.
Since we're doin newb questions here, I have one too.
I found a disturbing lack of info when making a new character. I'm wondering what exactly a Cora specialist does and whether it's worth playing that character. I almost went with one last night as my first, but decided to go warrior instead to get a handle on the controls and all that first.
The other thing I'm wondering is...um...I forgot what it was. Oh well, I'll ask later if I remember. :)

Hi lani! Great to see you are giving it a swing too.
As for your Nood question. The quests are not important at all. You miss nothing much by skipping them. Only the mission awards, no story arc or follow up missions. What you probably did miss by levelling very fast is building up your powers. Leveling is actually also not too important. The main thing is to get all your powers leveled to the max. They will give you access to new features later on. But you can catch up on that by farming low level monsters and just raise the levels on them without leveling up (too quick).

Yep, H. But BP help you out on that one already.
And on another note, great avatar you got there. Can't wait to play it. For now we just got pestibug to play with.

Yep, that is the way to go. And armor and weapons come free too, so no need to spent dough on that.

Yes, it's a.... Crafter.
The one profession I was 'missing' from Lineage II. On start you get the choice between a shortbow and a handgun. You're really not equipped to fight, but should be able to defend yourself. In other words, not a solo class.
You do start with Mining Gear provided.
Oh, and I was bringing my Ranger up pretty balanced.
Looks like that very nice Level 7 bow that did damage like a level 10 resulted in a rather low defense rating on my part. Not enough nasties getting a punch in :-/
My Warrior is pretty balanced as well atm, except that I've yet to find a use for the Skill that extends your melee range, given the monsters' tendency to stand on top of you.

Ok, I think this was it...
How do I get to start using the Expert skills for my warrior?
Kinda anticlimactic, I know. :)

Is that all? I believe at level 30, and when your skills are at sufficient level. But I hope one of our guru's will confirm this for me.

For expert skills your basic skills pt neads to be at 30 for force or melee or range and you nead your 1st class change at lvl 30.
The next one is at 50 50
Then 70 70 70.
Good luck.

So I'm stuck with the same skills till I get to lvl 30 then? Ok, I can live with that.
Another question I have, If I chose melee when I created my character, does that mean I cannot at all use the skills for range or force power? What I was thinking of doing was goin back to the start with my 17 warrior, pickin up a cheap rifle and work on getting some Ranged skill pt. Is it possible to do that, or would it be a waste of my time?

The best answer I can give is to read the first few posts in this thread before I start chirping in.

I'm not sure I understand all that stuff about cross-classing. It sounds like if I cross class to ranger, I am then a ranger and no longer a warrior.
What I'm wanting to know is, can I raise my ranged skill pt by using a ranged weapon and still remain a warrior?
The same question goes for crafting, can I craft thing without actually being a specialist?

Everyone can use any basic skill from any class. But only that class (ranger for range skills and warrior for melee) can use the higher skills.

Thanks Hnix, makes sense actually :-)
One thing about the Expert Skills though.
People keep saying you need to max them out to level 3. Sure, ok, makes sense so far. But, do you need to max them all out as I've seen some people claim in game? All being, all those available to your profession?
Or is there some kind of linkage, i.e. for Skill B in the Expert tier there's a Skill B in the Basic tier that needs to be maxed? That would make more sense to me, especially given the Warrior class which has a couple of skills which are a bit redundant or not even useable unless you have a specific weapon type.

The best I can say to that is no there is no other skill linking besides the pt req between the different levels of skills (basic -> expert). Manly because there is no skill tree in the first place :D. all you need to get is the pt and you got access

Unlockin ur elite skills is near impossible and the last teir i believe is master? is impossible. i got my expert skills at lvl 32 or 33 b/c i decided 2 kill 2 bird w/ 1 stone in CC(crimson coast) which caused me 2 lvl up fast and my pt got 20 point boost every kill (brutes).
For anyone who has enough time and pantients 4 elite skills good 4 u.

Well, I started getting some pt in ranged skills for my warrior today. Not sure why. Maybe just cause. Took me a bit to figure out that you have to kill at lease 1 dot monsters in order to get pt. :)

Well as far as skills goes, I kept mine maxed till 30. After 30 I went off the two teir armor rule of thumb. At 33, before I try to xp for 35, I get enough points to wear my 35, and 37 armor. Then I work on leveling.
Being a ACC, its kind of essential for us to raise melee, and ranged. Melee armor for fighting BMAUS, MAUS, Wars and Rangers. Then ranger armor for resistance bonuses for fighting Casters, plus gives increased movement speed. Add in Launcher armor for AoEs and such, so have to raise it up as well.
As far as closs crossing goes, its harsh on the player. You do get access to the skills of the new class, but you wont get the special skills of someone that was a pure class.
Yes specialist are the only ones that can craft. When giga 4 comes out, only true line specs will be able to craft int, and purple items. Although its just a very small random chance what you craft turns out to be magical. But say a war, or driver decides to become an engineer, they wont be able to get that chance on int, and purple items.

Well... sry to say it but wrong type of pt lol. We are referring to the skill pt not the range melee unit summon launcher stuff but the pt from the skill it self. in keyboard mode you can see the skill pt with "l" the pt your referring to is seen by pressing "c".
I think you for your post but I think you misinterpreted our pt questions

No I have not seen anyone doing that yet, but I know of rangers doing a similar type of thing for the force buffs and healing. But I'm a crafter lol.
