Any Power Pool tips?

I made a stalker a while back and recently I started playing it again. The more I play it the faster I am falling in love with the game style. I am now entering the teens and am wondering if there are any pool powers that are espicially helpfull. I am considering making my stalker (Energy/Energy BTW) my main PvP toon. I was considering going with TP Friend, TP, Swift, Health, Stamina, Boxing, Tough, and Weave. Any advice would be appreciated.

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

Hi, for a travel power i would either go for fly or Super Jump
Hover then fly. Hover for the def boost
or for the same reason combat jump and super jump. , as after u can get Acrobatics which has res to knockback, stun, sleep, and i think a few others.
and after that i would go for, TP friend.
and then swift health then stamina

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

see i have the same question...but i think that...Tp friend is considerably helpful for sneaking to the end of a mish and TPing team to boss...and wham mucho xp...and TP enemy is also helpful for TPing and enemy to you....and killing him and repeating that step...and then u get TP at 14 which is fastest travel power...and just use some endurance reduction enhancements and youll be fine

Tp is the fastes travelo power but it is also the most annoying. You must get hover if u have tp. this will help u a lot. if u want to tp in dangerous areas w/o falling to ur death then this is a must.

if i were a stalker i would think to get all the defense increasing powers or most of them.

Agree with above, look at the defence. Especially during the early levels. Its not always that easy to 'leg it' without sustaining additional damage. As 'hide' still takes a while to power up. Keep at it, theres nothing more satisfing than a succesfull Assasin Strike!

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

Your best bet, IMHO, is to stick mostly to what you're going to do now, except I suggest, instead of swift, you get hurdle. And instead of TP you get combat jumping. Followed of course by SJ and then eventually acrobatics.

Why? Because combined with hurdle, and 3 slotted, SJ can keep up with most TPs (trust me on that one).

Then there's the defense. Its a good idea to go with the fighting pool and an even better idea to combine that with combat jumping. Not only will it be usefull for defensive purposes it can be used tactically combined with hurdle, to keep away from stronger, slower oponents.

Of course the added benefit here is access to Acrobatics. Although not the best resistance to holds and knockbacks it is a very good investment. With it, you won't be getting smacked around by just about anything and everything. Yes, this includes large trout.

Of course if you want, you could dip into the TP pool for TP friend. You know, for grinding with a team in order to get into RV.

Anyways, thats my two inf. Err, wait a sec.
*rummages through wallet*
Uhh. . . Does anyone have any infamy I could borrow? I think I put in more than my two infs worth.
Anyone?
No?
Ok. . .
I understand. . .

This is not true, if you have TP bound to a handy key like "t" and a "low lag"system. I have had MANY toons with TP (including 2 L50 heroes) and only my first had Hover which I respeced out once I had a good enough 'puter to not have lag. Also as a stalker falling still hurts but the mobs you fall in wont like ly see you.

I always bind TP to my mouse's thumb button (but then again not everyone has a thumb button on their mouse). It allows for maximum flexibility and freedom of movement. As for the lag and falling I whole-heartedly agree on all points made above.

Edit: One more thing. You'll definitely want to get stealth and invis if you want to PvP alot. It helps tremendously now that everyone can see through concealment type powers.

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

with you having energy aura as a secondary you wont need acrobtics.. you have KB protection with entropy shield..

stamina is good to get..

if you plan on PvPing strongly suggest - stealth or Grant Invis.. then get Invisibility for the 40+ pvp..

Hasten is a great power to get your powers back sooner

then travel power if you want TP get TP you want fly get Air Superiority over Hover.. AirSup's -fly is the reason keeps people from flying away from ya.. combat jumping and SJ.. or get SS and work in Aid Self...

but for a stalker and pvp orientated i strongly suggest - Fitness - Stealth/Invis - Hasten - Travel for your 4 pools.. and if you can work in Aid Self even better..

I always thought Acrobatics resistance stacked with other powers'. I could be wrong. And If I am, I still suggest going for CJ and SJ for your travel powers. And if you do, get hurdle instead of swift as it make combat jumping that much more effective in combat.

They should stack, this helps in "massive combat" when the holds are piled on.

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

I made 2 ENE/ENE stalkers in the Test event and they were very fun to play. It seemed that with my secondary + fighting I was all set for defense as I was nearly untouchable. I didn't try out stealth+invis but I don't think that Invis would be a good choice because you can't attack with it up.

But you can use it to get in close to someone, switch to stealth, then AS them. Lucky for you most heros I saw at the event didn't have many, if any, yellows to pop. But ussually heros always pack some form of +perception so normal levels of concealment, like hide for example, are pretty much useless except for easier getaways. But hide's -perception stacks with that of invis and stealth making you extremely hard to see without an unusually high level of +perception.

I only wish there were Concealment Enhancments. Hey. That's not a bad idea. Probably not original either but it's the first time I thought about it that way.

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

I suggest, for the Power Pools, taking teleportation and fitness, and if you do a little or a lot of PvP I'd choose concealment.

lv8/10 Recall Friend (teleportation)
lv14 Teleport (Teleportation)
lv22 Swift (fitness)
lv24 Health (fitness)
lv26/28 Stamina (fitness)
lv30 Stealth (Concealment)

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

You want to be a PvP ledge, get the stealth pool powers ontop of hide and then you can own just about anyone. Id say SJ for your travel, mostly for combat jumping and its defence boost.

well of course u dont ned it if u have it bound and have a low lag comp but not everyone has that. So hover is the only way i know to make things easier. Even if u have hide on no one wants 2 fall out of the sky.

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

I say go with ss. Get hasten first.

Then get stealth.
When you get ss it adds a little stealth and you will be invisible. pretty much.At 20 get whirlwind or whatever it is. This helps alot. Get health and stamina so you can recover quicker

RE: Any Power Pool tips?

If you choose Teleportation you'd best choose Recall Friend and ofcourse Teleport itself, if you use it correct you will travel so fast most enemies (in PvP) won't even see you before you're out of sight again :P.
By choosing SuperSpeed, you can travel fast also, and you get a nice extra level of Stealth, but you can't get everywhere, so for example you're fighting and an enemy flies/teleports/superjumps away, you can't follow him because he's out of reach...

Conclusion: In my opinion it's best to go for Superjump or Teleport, and get Stealth in Concealment power pool.
