Greetings GameAmp gamers. This is my first post(woot me). Anywho, I recently started a ranger but im unsure what 2nd prof to choose. Any intel about different ranger builds would be very helpfull. Thank You.

ranger/monk i prefer. good for running and barrage. or depends what its for factions or regular prophecoes?

ranger/mes for interrupting or farming
ranger/monk for running or farming
ranger/elementalist for spiking and general damage
ranger/warrior for.. I don't know.
ranger/assassin for massive PvP killing
ranger/ritualist for barrage+damage
ranger/necro for crazy vamp touch build and curse killing.
Quick and Dirty. I'm sure I missed stuff, but eh.

For Pve i would suggest r/mo r/me or r/rt these are the classes ive found to be the all around most usefull
r/mo i normally use all ranger skills and like havinh the hard res
r/me i hit them with concusion shot then epidemic and barrage and interupt non stop
r/rt the weapon skills can help with damage and its another class with a hard res which is nice
im sure there are other good combos but i like these 3 for pve also keep in mind once u get to ascended you can switch your second profession anytime with no negtive effect either do the second profession quests or pay a 1 time fee of 500 at senjis corner

I'm using a Ranger/Monk, i'm using all ranger skills except for resurection. If you want to go with a mainly ranger heavy build it would be a nice choice i think.

Rangers have such a wide array of skills that they rarely need help from other professions to be effective. I prefer R/Mo, using 7 ranger skills and Rebirth. Rebirth has saved my team so many times in the past, since I'm usually one of the last people standing, and with evasion skills, I can usually get back far enough to break aggro so I can res.

really ranger is a very versatile class which is effective with any secondry prof.
like for pure dmg i would go either Ele or Rt.
while interupter i would go Mes
while conditioner i would go necro

I agree with you 100% I waited till factions to make a ranger (lvl 20 already) wish I hadn't tho , there are so many different things you can do with them, personally I think there the most versatile class you can have. I mean they can 4 man trap Uw and that = big bucks , they can spike, they can run, they can farm, (solo Fow also) >I'll never get tired of my ranger :)

Totally agree with that. My first character was a Warrior/Mesmer. Did pre searing and did a couple of quests, then stopped playing. Started playing again a few weeks ago, deleted my warrior and made my Ranger/Monk. And now i'm upto the Borlis pass mission (which i've failed 3 times now thanks to incompitant team mates agrroing enemies near the second gate) in i would say half the time, and i enjoy playing it a lot more. With warriors all you can really do is tank, but with my ranger it allows me much more freedom and makes the game so much more enjoyable, and i still haven't experimented with traps yet (as i haven't aquired any yet)

I saw a Ranger/Warrior that was pretty hard to kill in gvg I believe I saw him use glads defense once other than that unsure of the skill set.. but he sure did tick everyone off alot!!!

yeah r/w is good for gvg and pvp in heros for a few builds ViM trapper being one of them but it's not super good for pve, like so many ppl have sed already r/mo is best for pve.

yeah I was speaking for a gvg/pvp point of view I guess it's my favorite anyway, sure r/mo is pretty good for live vicarously and rez dif..
R/me was my first build for awhile before proffession changed and it diff. got me through the games with no problems wat so ever.. so either of those will diffentally get u going.

yeah the mesmer for interruptsis good but we r talkin bout a ranger pirmary here the best interrupter in the game imo, u don't need mesmer for that, it would b good for energy management tho, maybe have 1 or 2 energy drain skills and then interrupts and kindle arrows, that sounds pretty godd, and it's qquite good for trapping, but that is mostly pvp.

what about R/E with conjure flame for Ignite Arrows and Kindle arrows, and ones that i messed that deal fire dmg. I think Fire attunment works with them skills too, not sure but positive with the conjure flame

everyone says ranger/monk is good for running.. but so's ranger/warrior.. great for running, practised sance + chocking gas, blademaster, thumper bunny :)

depends on what type you are. if you like animals do a beast mastery build. if you like making peeps mad do inturrupt build. it alll depends on you. :)
