i noticed lately that many energy blasters are very rare and that if they are invited, they are invited to high lvl mishes.Lately i have been invited many many times to 4-5+ lvl mishes.Not complaining but is it rare to find a energy blaster?

good lord no! an energy/energy blaster is actually among the most common hero types, right above Invuln/SS tanker.
thats not saying theyre bad, in fact the reason that they are so popular is because they put out alot of damage very swiftly.
i just find the knockback very annoying...

oh really. Sorry bout mistake. Most of the time i hardly see energy blasters on teams thats why.The knock back is effective at soloing but very annoying to tanks.

Strangely, I've only found myself teaming with another Inv/SS once or twice.
Energy blasters are common, but not as common as they used to be. The damage output is very high, probably due to the dual damage type. If something is is resistant to the smashing damage, say CoT deamons, they are usually weak to energy. I think robots are weak to both.
And the knockback is extremely annoying. As an inv/ss tank having everything in AoE range isn't as important as for say a fire/fire, but its still every tanker's pet hate.

Well, I wouldn't say EVERY tamkers. I play a lot of invul/ss tanks and I don't care if blasters knock them around a bit. doesn't really bother me at all. I also play several energy/energy blasters, so maybe I just see it from both sides, but I think the knockback knock is overated personally. I'v enever had an issue with it.

Energy/enrgy blasters are pretty much the only ones I make now. I have tried them all, and I love the energy/energy blasters. They are great for PVP and very easy to level. I generally go solo with them on rugged. My level 34 is getting to the point to where it is getting harder to solo with him, but I have solod him 99% of the 34 levels. I have run into quite a few lately. I think some of that has to do with PVP. They can be devastating. VERY FUN to play !!!

Yeah I think the reason you see less Energy Blasters now is because most of the Blaster type people have made and leveled theirs up, and are trying out other AT's and Blaster sets.
Knockback is a good thing when used properly. It does take a little time on the job to know how to use knockback for the team as a Blaster, and how to deal with it on melee AT's. As Energy is mostly a single target devastator, they rarely assist the Scrap or Tank, they pick their own targets and take them out.
Running both, I know which ones to do that with. My fire and Electricity Blasters run assist all of the time. Makes things go faster. My AR/DEV Blaster works on whatever the Tank or Scrapper isn't, With an occasional Flame Thrower to pull all of the aggro off of him!......lol
You know you have a good KB Blaster when you see them bunch stuff up into a corner with it, knock stuff back ON TO Ice Patch or send something on your Empath flying out of melee range with them.
Energy has some of the best looking graphics for the Blaster sets. And the dual damage type helps you to be effective against more enemies in the long run. If they are resistant to one type, they are usually weak to the other. Besides, you Scrappers and Tanks need a little exercise every once in a while, won't hurt you to chase something down to work off that beer belly! hehehe.....j/k

Wow...I'm surprised by the overall answer to the original question. I hardly ever run into Energy/Energy Blasters. One of my first characters was an Empathy/Energy Defender, and most folks got upset when I used any of my secondary powers. The knockback was just too much for them to handle. After I stopped using him, I always kept an eye out for Energy types on my teams...they're pretty much non-existent. It sounds like PvP has given the build a new life. Since I'm not a fan of PvP, that might explain why I was unaware. I wonder if there's a significant server difference...

Well, I have to put my 2 cents in on this as my Main is Eng/Eng Blaster.
The Eng/Eng build requires patience and a lot of hard lessons. I heard all the same complaints about the knockback disrupting the "flow" of the attack scheme.
Blah Blah Blah....
After a while I figured out how to change my play style to compliment the Team Build. If there was a Tank I would always postion myself to where I could pin the enemy into a wall or corner that the Tank was working around.
If the Team did not have a Tank I didn't really concern myself with the Knockback effects, and I usually made sure the Defenders and Controllers were not attacked.
It took some time to recognize the situations and figure out when to use what.
The best advice I have for Eng/Eng Blasters is...
1. Look at the Team Build. Determine what powers to use when to better the Team. *This also means looking at the Team Members Powers.*
2. Study the Mobs you are attacking. Since you are a single target killer, it will benefit the Team if you use your massive damage skills on the most dangerous enemy.
3. Be on the look out for runners. Head them off and knock them back into the attack area, or just blow them to bits ( my personal favorite).
It is all in how you approach the team.

Hi all,
Yes it's true Energy/Enery Blasters (but also Tanks) are the most wanted figures in COH, but also in COV.
I finded out by my self.
Yesterday I created an Energy/Energy Blaster in COH on the Union server and after I just lvl-up to lvl 5, I got at once 3 invited pm's who wants to have me on their team.
The same thing I got it with my Tank in COH on the Defiant server and also with my Energy/Energy Corruptor in COV on the Defiant server.
It seems that figures with Energy/Energy are the most wanted are in teams to be just because of the damage they created.
In COH I have:
WarFireGirl Fire/Ice Brute (Tank) with Battle Axe/Ice Armor on the Defiant server,
Viprist Energy/Energy Blaster with Energy Blast/Power punch on the Union server.
In COV I have:
Viprest Energy/Energy Corruptor with Energy Blast/Energy heal on the Defiant server,
RadiationWitch NL Rad/Rad with Blast/Heal,
FlameWitch NL Fire/Fire with Blast/Heal on the Union server.
