So I downloaded the new patch and now when I try to click on the icon on my desktop to install it, it won't open up. nothing happens. I tried re-downloading the patch and the same thing happens. any help?

The 1.3 patch installer is slow. Be sure you are giving it adequate time to run. Wait at least 5 minutes before trying anything else.
The only other issues I have seen with this involves removing BF2 completely and re-installing it. If you do a complete un-install, do a search for any bf2 files or folders and remove them also AFTER you have done an uninstall from windows uninstaller. Be sure you know your username/password if you uninstall so you don't lose your stats.

alright thanks i'll try that, it did seem like mabye my computer was trying to do something for a long time after i clicked it, i'll try waiting longer.
