I just wanted to know if ((all the invlu toggles were up 6-slotted with resist or defence lvl 53 SO's...))Would it be better/worse/close/double as good as granite un-slotted? and how about it with 6 slots with all resist/defence!?
Need someone that prbably knows alot about tanks and alot about their defences.

It is difficult to make a direct comparison because the Invuln powerset is based on damage resistence while a Stone Tank is a mixture of resistence and defense. That being said, here are the hero planner numbers:
An Invuln Tank with all toggles/autos running (no Unstoppable), 6-slotted with +3 Damage Resistence SO's would have a 71.3% resistence to smashing and lethal damage, and a 29.3% resistence to everything else except psionic. If you hit Unstoppable, all of your other toggles drop so with Unstoppable and your auto resistences running, all 6-slotted with damage resistence, you end up with 117.4% against lethal/smashing, and 130% vs everything else except psionic.
A Stone Tank with Granite Armor, unslotted, would have a 20% defense against everything but toxic and psionic, plus a 50% resistence to all but psionic. 6-slotting with damage-resistence would raise your damage resistence to 83.9%, while 6-slotting with defense would raise your defense to 33.5%. If you slotted with 3 damage resistence and 3 defense enhancements you would end up with 31.5% defense and 78.7% damage resistence.

This is a common misconception. Invun tank that are spec'd with Invinciblity and Tough Hide. Tought Hide gives gives a 7.9% def bonus, which if you take off -5% def for running Unyielding, gives you a total of 2.9%.
Now Invinciblity is not updated in Hero builder. In Hero builder you get 2.4% def bonus for every target up to 10 targets. Way it is now, is you get a bigger bonus from the first target, and it scales down with every target. but you still get a 24% def bonus.
So adding that together you get a 26.9 bonus with Unyielding toggled on, and a 31.9% defense bonus without it.
So the Invun tank is a combo of Resist and Def, sitting higher on the Resist then the Def. The only tank that is a Pure resistant based tank, is the Fire tanks.
Not meaning to be rude with this post, i just want to make the info right.

Power is only a tool. How you use it determines everything.
If you use it to help and protect others then you will be great in the eyes of others, and be called a Hero.
But if you use your power the opposite of that, you will be feared by the the same eyes, and be called a Villian.
This opition I give to you. Choose wisely.

I stand corrected. Thanks for clarifying. I left Invinciblity out of the equation mostly because a) I did not want to calculate the numbers, and b) the number of bad guys surrounding you is constantly changing, thus changing the defense numbers. Good call.

Sorry to correct again, but they don't. There isn't much point having them all up in a normal situation though. I usually just leave Invincibility up for the taunt and the Acc buff.
The way I see it though is: Granite is a toggle 'god-mode', which instead of crashing (a la Unstoppable, MoG), just has a few debuffs. That seems good enough. Even if you count out the crashes in other 'god-modes', you still get downtime whereas granite does not.

First post! Yay!
Now that I got that out of the way, the fact that you refered to Granite as God-mode is not overrated at all. I am just curious of the difference between having all previous stone armors up compared to granite by itself?

Hey, I get to say it first for a change. Welcome to the site Antaeus! Woot! Ok, I've played with many an inv and stone tanks, and made a few myself, although not to a high level. But from what I've seen, no matter what the ratings are, stone always wins in a tough competition. They seem to be short on damage, but their toughness is unmistakable. So if you want to do more than just take the damage, stone isnt the way to go, invulnerability works better.
