Leechers, Sitters, Battle Fixers, etc...

Recently, Your's Truely, Myself, has been out and about into the faction farming areas and discovered a rather vexing issue. I of course am speaking of leechers, sitters, battle fixers, and still I keep learning new names for them. These people I speak of are in one way or another diliberately fixing faction battles in an attempt to get one team to lose. They join on one side, enter the battle, and "sit" the entire match in hopes that the side they joined will lose. Like I stated before, this vexes me, and if at all possible I would like the gameamp community to comment on this issue to keep the thread alive, and maybe, just maybe ANET will fix this with a penalty. Yes, there are cases when people actually lag out of the match, but recently I ran into a player who "sat" for four matches I was in. Surprisingly my teams still won half of them. Also note that this is an issue that happens to both kurzicks and luxons, so please let us unite to fight and rid Fort Aspenwood, and such places of these "leechers"!

leecher happens in missions too-I think it is a form of trolling myself. They join a party then watch and listen to the party getting mad at them.

or they join a party for a mission then bugger off a little ways into it. I think the idea is that if they bugger off to soon the party will just start over with new players. But if they wait, then bugger off the party will try to get some return for their time and efforts and will carry on short handed. Many times this happens in pairs-many times either warriors or monks.

When I did the thunderhead bonus with one of my characters we had a hell of a time with player dropping out in the start or near the first part of the fort for no seen reason(in other words we were doing well). One time a warrior waited for the cutscene then ran back all the way to the start to collect any drops player did not bother to pick up-We lost without him and the other that left!It was totally unreal!!

Then we got a group that we made the bonus with and if I recall right we had one guy leave in the early fort and a monk that did not do a thing yet followed us the whole mission (so she was not afk). She was one the monks that for about a months was dancing in thunderhead 24 hours a day. I assume she was joining parties for the mission until one got the bonus for she.

GRRR-makes you mad!!!

Sometime you wish you could vote out a player from a party once you enter a zone or mission! Like in BF2.

I've actually had a match i was luxon, and a member of the kurzick team was opening the gates to allow luxons through and sabotaging the kurzicks very deliberately, even I as a luxon in that particular match think thats just disgraceful, ofcourse we won the match :/

One time in Fort Aspenwood, we (Kurzicks) had 4 "afk-ers", who probably just wanted to earn kurzick faction while doing something else than playing guild wars, and 2 leavers. You think we won with 2 man? Hell no.

In an alliance battle, right after we started, a whole team of 4 man left, just to make us lose!

I really hate these people, and yes, a voting system like in BF2 would work great in GW too.

I think it would be a good idea if people could just join missions and alliance battles and such if they had an open space, for exaple a leaver. You should also be able to kick people if they ahve beena fk for 15 min+ and by a vote, so that they wont get mission even if you can make it without them.

I just realised what these people would do if we had a voting system like BF2-they would start parties with friends then at some point in the mission or whatever they would vote out the non friends just for the fun of it. I don't doubt for a moment some jerks would do this!

What if going afk from a party, (and by afk I mean either not moving character or not attacking or using skills that way it is harder for this being by pass) reduces your rank or faction points or something along those lines?

the problem with that, at least for alliance battels is that some of these peeps may be throw away accounts of sorts, so that lowered rank or what not doesn't matter. perhaps allow for pera death when you do that sorta thing?
