Anyone remember that ad for cream puffs with green cream sponsered by the Shrek 2 movie?
Anyways, the point is that weapons and shields with + defence or attack v.s ogres were released with faction but I have yet to see any ogres. Are yetis ogres?
Also what is the purpose of these jewels, A-net claimed they would have a use but I haven't seen one yet.
Maybe in the near future...

my ogre slaying knife is sitting in storage waiting to be used. i'm afraid it might be rusty by now. where are the ogres?

Some time in the futurue, they'll release a chapter about the norse mythology... The enemies of the norse gods were ogres, or jotuns... Then it will be good to have your ogre slaying knife! Sure, it might not happen for a year or six, but you'll regret selling it if it actually comes!

Meh, ogre slaying knives are usless, even against ogres.
Altough 10-13dmg ain't that bad for a no req it's still more of a beginers weapon.

According to tests on guildwiki, both Ettins and Yeti are ogres.
