I never played Diablo for more than 5 minutes...parents thought I would be infected by the occult or something, so answer me this if you can: Is this game a true MMO or not? When you go out exploring, you can see and interact with others, right?
I've been playing Guild Wars for quite a while now and I've been itching to play an actual MMO. I could always go play Runescape, but...um...no.

neither GW or DR (dungeon runners) are true MMO's.
a "True" MMO has wide open spaces like WoW has and has a lot of other features one cannot find in GW or any other game. (WoW was just an example, i'm not actually mentioning WoW as the perfect MMo or the example.)

I don't know how you define "True MMO", but I look at them as a game you play online with other people. From the info on Dungeon Runners, it doesn't seem like there is going to be wide open space to explore, but it looks like you will be able to inneract with others all over the world.
I do think it is going to be pretty hard to find a free to play MMO that has wide open spaces for exploring. All of the ones that I've seen that are any fun to play are pay to play.

| QUOTE | | First up is Dungeon Runners, an action-heavy RPG. Played fast and furious, the game starts players in a centrally-located town. The usual vendors and whatnot are located here as well as a fast travel obelisk that lets players instantly jump to any area they've already explored. The demo took us to the Whispering Woods where the player engaged in some fast action combat with a variety of monsters. Since each zone is instanced and generated procedurally, players are sure to find a uniquely personal experience each time they revisit a zone. To further increase the appeal to new players, the game will forego any death penalties and also allow you to move your character from server to server. |
From here. :)
